Before Brutus I had 5 other kitty cats, but because of circumstances I had to give them up for adoption. I regret this everyday and I miss them with all my heart. Granted I found good homes for them.Arvid and I have no children so when he agreed I could have a cat again I was in heaven. Could not wait to go to the shelter and find us our new baby kitty. We saw a few but when Brutus walked into the room there was no need to see more. Arvid fell in love with this tiny little fur ball and for me that was enough....because you see I was going to have my kitty.
The fact that he became such an important part of our lives was not surprising to me. What surprised me the most was that Arvid was so smitten with this tiny, cuddly little creature. That alone made me love him (Arvid) even more.
As time went by Arvid was more and more fascinated by this kitty cat. He named him and he gave him a birth date. We celebrate his birthday on May 17th. This is significant for Arvid because May 17th is Norway's Constitution Day. It is the the equivalent of our July 4th. For him to do so meant that Brutus was an important part of our lives......
Brutus is now king of the house. He does what he pleases and amazingly enough he manages to get Arvid to do his bidding. Smart cat. Arvid is a workaholic, but somehow when Brutus meows Arvid stops what he is doing and just follows kitty around to see what he wants. Brutus has had a calming effect in our lives........
Brutus is a very important part of our lives and when we make plans we always take his needs in consideration....as Arvid says he is a baby........and we love him so.
Right now Brutus is sitting right next to me keeping me warm....
For those of you that have a pet you like me are lucky because what our pets bring into our lives is more than what we give to them....our Brutus has brought us many happy moments and continues to do so daily.....
As a sideline, Haiti has been struck with a devastating earthquake. Hundreds of thousands of people are either dead, missing or badly injured. We who are not affected sometimes do not think of what it must be like to have lost everything and everyone we love.....If you can just find it in your hearts to contribute or to donate anything I bet it would be greatly appreciated and it would sure make a difference....all it take is one person to make a difference.....
I would like to make a difference and I hope some of you would also.....
That's it for today......

hello all thankyou for visiting my blog...hopefully I have corrected the setting and you can now leave a comment.....
I've always admired your relationship with Brutus. I get a kick from seeing how such a little furball can so completely dominate your Nordic Viking! From what I've seen in the pictures, Arvid literally melts around Brutus.
I like cats but unfortunaetly I'm extremely allergic to them :-(. I've had a number of dogs however and loved everyone of them. My daughter has inherited my love of animals.
Currently my only pet is one I've had since back in our HS days: Rocky my pet rock. Don't laugh.
He's a great mascot. He waits for me by the door and holds it open for me. He doesn't eat, crap or make any sounds. He always has a happy face for me (painted of course) and once when someone tried to break into my apartment, he jumped up and hit him in the head. WHat a protector!
Seriously, our pets are our kids and are sometimes more demanding than our two legged kids.
God bless all three of you!
