Happy Day Here ~

The hardest thing to learn in life is which
bridge to cross and which bridge to burn....

Somedays I think I will become a bird watcher.  Birds
fly by our balcony all the time and I am having quite a good
time trying to get a picture of them.  Not always
successful, but always entertaining and fun.

As Arvid likes to say, "it keeps you busy."  Busy and
happy actually.  The other day I thought we saw an eagle fly by,
unfortunately I was too late to get a picture.  Good thing is,
I will probably get another opportunity 😀

Two little girls playing on the beach.  They reminded
me of our two grand-daughters in Norway. It was a very
pleasing sight, and they kept me entertained for a long time.

A beautiful day here and the weather is looking great.
Looking forward to what the day holds 🌞.

Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a
way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.
Which is what I sometimes do, and that enables
you to laugh at life’s realities 😜...

Wednesday In Puerto Rico ~

An ocean breeze puts the mind at ease...

Exactly what we experienced yesterday.  Ocean
breezes, and salt water. I can't believe we have been
swimming already two times here in Puerto Rico.

We live in Fort Lauderdale, we never go to the
beach, yet here it just comes naturally and easily.
I wonder what makes it feel so much better here.

I asked Arvid that and he said in Fort Lauderdale the
beaches are packed.  We like it more on the "private" side.
Also here there are trees everywhere, so you can have
a swim then just come out and lounge in the shade.

It's the perfect set up.  Can't wait for our next beach day.
Maybe one day either Arvid or I might soon go home, and
get a few things we need, mainly his bread.  I personally
don't want to go so if anyone goes it will be Arvid 😂.

There is a tree for everyone.  Some even bring their hammocks.

Today is already looking good.  The sun is out.
Sniff is happy, as is Arvid and I.  Life is good and
for that I am grateful.  Happy Wednesday all.
🦇 Kitties are all set for Halloween 👻👻

Whatever life throws at me I’ll take
it and be grateful for it as well...

Happy Sniff ~ Happy Day ~

There’s no happier person than
a truly thankful, content person...

Sniff got his new scratch pad about a week ago.
On the first day he he loved it.  He scratched away like there
is no tomorrow, and that was it.  Short lived "love affair" with
the scratch pad.  Now it sits and I hope he will use it again.

Yesterday we had a little bad weather.  Lost power
a few times, but the good thing is that the generator kicks in
right away.  As Arvid said, "this is the best place of all the places
we have lived."  We have found that everything works really
well here.  Not sure why, but we are surprised about that.

The above was the start of the sunset.  Morning or night
it is a beautiful site.  Always something to see 👀 and to hear .

Sniff is trying to get into the Halloween spirit,
so far not his favorite time of the year, but then there
are so many "not favorite times" in his book. 👻

Happy ew day to all, and let's not forget that
there is always something to be grateful for.

It’s ironic that when you go through a tragedy,
you appreciate more. You realize how fragile life is and
that there are so many things to still be thankful for...

A New Week Begins ~

Begin each day with a grateful heart...

It's always the the simplest of things that brings the
most joy in one's life.  yesterday we had one of those simple
pleasures that life offers.  We got to "see" the entire Norwegian
gang all in one place at the same time.  Thank you Skype
for bringing Arvid and his family together 😍.

As the new week begins we are making a list of "chores"
we need to do and things that need to be taken care of.  The
list is getting shorter and shorter every day.  That is good
and not so good at the same time.  We need to be busy 😂

Good morning all.  Not sure what the day hold for us
right now, but it has started out well.  The sun is shining,
coffee is good Sniff, Arvid and I are together.

Our families are well, and though we all have something
in our lives that is always bothersome, we have each other, and
for that I will always be grateful.  Happy new week to all.

Always be thankful for what you have.
 Many people have nothing...❤

Sunday Vibes ~

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold.
But other times it's essential to take time off and to make
👀 sure that your most important decision in the day simply
consists of choosing which color to slide down the rainbow...

I love the place that we call home for now.  The scenery
calms you and takes away all stresses that life puts
your away.  At least it helps.  A lot.  We love it.

Life is relaxing and on a slower pace.  Most of the time.
We have not completely settled into the "not being busy" lifestyle
100% as yet.  Arvid and Sniff are more there than I ever will be.

Sundays are always relaxing days for us, no matter
where we are. Wishing everyone a happy and
relaxing Sunday with your loved ones.

Your mind will answer most questions if
you learn to relax and wait for the answer...

Happy Day ~

May all your days be filled with umbrella drinks...

It rained just about all day yesterday.  It did not
look good at all of our Friday outing.  Fortunately
the rain stopped briefly at just the right time.

Arvid and I took off to one of our newest favorite
Friday spots.  We made it there just in time, because as
soon as we were seated, the rain came again.  And boy did
it pour.  Even thought we opted for indoor seating
this time, we still had sprinkles all over us.

No matter where we go in Puerto Rico you find
amazing drinks.  Last week as we were leaving one of our
hangouts, I saw the waitress serving a drink I have never
had before.  I asked what it was and she said it was
a tropical coconut passion fruit sangria.

Yesterday I was determined to have one of those rain
or no rain.  I sorta convinced Arvid that we needed to get
out, and he of course was all for it.  He usually is.

Wile it poured on the outside, Arvid and I were nicely
tucked away enjoying our Friday outing.  The waitress
actually remembered us, and before Arvid could
order his beer, she said, "and no lime🍋."

My coconut-passion fruit sangria was absolutely delicious.
I was in heaven.  I have never tasted as many yummy tropical
drinks as I am right now. Every Friday is a burst of flavor and
I am going to surely miss it when we go back home to Florida.

The sangria was packed with blueberries, grapes,
blackberry, pineapple and of course coconut and passion fruit.
It was just the best drink I have had for a long time.
And humongous.  Both Arvid and I enjoyed it.

I can't wait until next time to see what new tropical drink I
might have.  Life is definitely delicious.  Happy Saturday to all.

Friday ~

Kindness is the language which the
deaf can hear and the blind can see...

I don't think  will ever get tired of waking up to
this view.  Even when we have stormy weather,
it always clears up to bright blue skies 🌎.

On Sunday we will give a "tour" of our home to Arvid's
family via skype.  Mine have already seen it, so will
be nice for the Norwegian gang to see it as well.

Looking forward to what the little ones will think of
the bunk room.  Though it's the office, it's all set up for
little kids.  The only little kids left in the family are our 2
granddaughters, and Lilly Vade.  Lilly Vade is now 13 so
probably she won't like being called "little" anymore.

Friday..hmmm I wonder what we will do today.
If it's anything like the other Friday's, I am already
smiling.  I see a tropical drink 🍹or 2 in my horizon.

On a different note, Florida adds 3,356 coronavirus
cases yesterday, the most reported since last month. Also,
141 resident deaths. Bringing the total death in Florida
to 15,736.  About last night.  It was all pink.

Here in PR the numbers are also a little high,
but at least in PR we feel safer doing the things
we do when compared to Florida.  Sad.

Happy Friday to all.  Looking forward to
another beautiful day here in the islands.

Happiness depends upon ourselves...

Thursday ~

When I was young. I admired clever people,
Not that I am older, I admire kind people...

It nice and warn, even with the clouds on the dark side.

Sniff sees no point in spending too much energy right now.

A little trip yesterday into San Juan, a visit to my sister's
and a little mall time.  Not bad, only thing is I really do not
like using the mask.  Everyone seems so at ease with it.

Arvid had a little shopping spree.  At leas the had fun
looking.  He says I am difficult 😁, but I have never met a
more difficult person than him.  In everything almost.

The rain is coming.  Sniff is walking around in circles.
He has just heard the thunder.  Even though the skies
are dark, it is always beautiful.  Just like yesterday,
we had dark skies, but a beautiful day.

Already Thursday.  Weekend soon.  To all a good day.

Always be a little kinder than necessary...

Hello Wednesday 🌴 ~

The worse a situation become, the less it
takes to turn it around, the bigger the upside...

This is what life looks like today.  You are masked
up no matter where you go and what you do.  Here in
Puerto Rico it is even more rigid than many places I know.
If you look carefully at the picture below, you will
see the guy in the water with his mask on.

Normal is to have a mask on.  You see someone without
a mask, and you wonder what the heck is wrong with
them.  Of course there are many who believe the
mask does not do a damm thing to protect you.
I just know that we feel better wearing it.

The other day we were out and there was a gentleman
passing by.  Coughing up a storm.  We felt better 😷
knowing we had on a mask as did he. This virus
has definitely changed the way we live today.

I never understood why you have to drive with your
mask on.  The man in the red Jeep is doing just that.
He's all alone, but somehow feels better with his mask on
in the open air.  Interesting concept.  I can't say silly because
I do not have all the facts, but looks dumb to me.

Sometimes when  go out in the mornings I enjoy
sitting here and just taking in the views.  Mornings
are glorious no matter where we are 🌞🌴.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never
failing, but in rising every time we fall...

Tuesday October 13th ~

Probably some of the best things that have ever happened
to you in life, happened because you said yes to something.
Otherwise things just sort of stay the same 😂😍...

I am really getting tired of wearing the mask all the
time,  at the same time if I don't have it on it seems as if
something is not right.  Is this what our future holds.

Yesterday as we were sitting at a restaurant Arvid kept his
mask on.  Usually when you are seated at a restaurant, one is
"allowed" to take the mask on.  Arvid said he felt safer having it on.
I of course rip mine off ASAP.  While still being careful 😷

Yesterday we had the flu shot.  For us it seems to work.
Neither Arvid nor I have had a serious cold since we started
taking it.  The first time we ever took it was 2017 when
we lived in Branson.  Now every October it's a must.

The days are going by really fast.  Yesterday my niece
Lilly Vade turned 13.  A teenager.  It got me thinking of our two
granddaughters in Norway.  I thought about the grandma and
grandpa who adored them and are no longer there.

It made me sad to think that of the great and unfair loss
they have experienced.  Michelle is and the girls are always in
my heart, and when I stop to think of their loss I am sad
and for 💔me that day is no longer a happy day.

To all a very happy day.  Let's take time to
always be grateful and thankful.  For what we
take for granted many are praying for 💜🙏

and have everything we've ever dreamed of...
