Happy Times...

Happiness, not in another place but this place,

not for another hour, but this hour...

In Mexico every morning I would look out of the window and check out all the 

different bird species that would come by.  Pretty interesting what you can see.

My favorite was a regular pigeon that was always sitting on her eggs.

For the 8 days we were there she never left her nest, not for food or anything

else.  I watched her everyday and I think she was also keeping an eye on me.

On the morning of our departure, I check her out as usual.  To my delight she

 had given birth to her babies.  It was pretty emotional because it just goes

 to show how protective a mother is be it in nature or in the real world.  

We made many more friend in the animal world.  Especially in kitty land.

Among the many kitties we met, we took a special liking to the one above.

Arvid named him Cry-Baby.  One morning we woke up and all we heard was 

a kitty crying its eyes out.  As soon as we were done with breakfast we went looking for

the kitty cat carrying with us a can of tuna fish and a can opener.  Was the only food handy 

we had suitable for a cat.  As you can see she gobbled it all up.  The next day I went to 

the grocery store and bought quite a few different treats and foodies for her.  

Again we went looking for her, but she was not there anymore.  

We looked and looked.  Even went back late at night,but no luck.

As far as i am concerned, as long as there is something to watch, I am happy.

As you can see there is always lots going on and lots to keep me entertained.

Now back at home we have Brutus and he definitely keeps us on our toes.
A ball of fur, constant;y on the move.  Won't have it any other way.

Never allow waiting to become a habit.

A Day To Remember...

 The most memorable moments in life are the ones we never took the time to plan...

As Christmases go yesterday was one that will forever be part of the many good times we have with family. The morning was relaxed and pleasantly slows for a change. For once Arvid was not in a rush to get anywhere or to do anything.

As Christmases go yesterday was one that will forever be part of the many good times we have with family.   The morning was relaxed and pleasantly slow for a change.  For once Arvid was not in a rush to get anywhere or to do anything.

Breakfast was also relaxing and gave us time to plan for the rest of the day.  My sister and her two kids were coming over for dinner and we were pretty excited looking forward to this.

On a typical day, I always make two different meals.  One for Arvid and another for myself.  We rarely eat the same thing so planning for my sister was easy.  She and I were going to have lamb chops.  My nephew was having steak.  Arvid pork chops and Kimsy was having chicken tenders.  Easy and since I do enjoy cooking it was a pleasure.

As I finished the last minute cooking Arvid went to pick them up from their hotel.  Seems he arrived blasting music and top down.  J my nephew was happy and being Arvid he decided to tour them along the beach before bringing them home.  Arvid is a kid at heart and enjoyed the drive as much as they did.  He had a great time showing J his stamp collection and showing Kimsy how to operate his Jukebox.

Dinner was a success.  The best part was seeing my niece and nephew enjoying the food as did my sister, Arvid and I.   Brutus being Brutus was sneaking around all the time.  He also ended up with several toys from my sister and kids one being a mini soccer ball that makes noises.  So far he is curious, but terrified of the ball.

After dinner we drove them back to the hotel giving them another tour throughout Las Olas.  It was a magical evening.  The lights, the relaxed atmosphere was just perfect.   Everyone chatted without anyone getting overbearing, loud, intoxicated or obnoxious.   A very good time it was!

To end the evening we watched some TV.  Arvid loves to watch TV.  Claims it helps him wind down.  Me not so keen, but since he likes for me to watch with him he says to me, "this might be the last show, since everyone seems to be dying."  I replied, "good if they die I will watch it on Demand.  If they don't then I did not miss anything."

  It was perfect.   As Christmases go, we had a great one.  Hope yours was also as nice as ours and remember, life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments...

Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you...
