April 27th ~ Their First Day Without Dexy ๐Ÿ’”

There are moments when I wish I could roll back
the clock and take all the sadness away, but I have the
feeling that if I did, the joy would be gone as well...

Yesterday was a difficult, sad day for me. Imagine
how it is for Rima and her family. Last week the decision
was made to put Dexy to sleep.  He was in lots of pain
and his quality of life was not good.  I loved that
little stinker and my heart is also hurting.

It brought back memories of the day
our Brutus died and the way our Shadow
died. My heart is heavy and though I know it
will be “better” again, right now it’s not.

Last night before falling asleep Rima sent me
this picture.  Their routine is to always take the
collars off the doggies for the night and put them in
their spots.  Dexy's will never be used ever again๐Ÿ’”
This simple picture interrupted my sleep for hours.

We have our Sniff and he is a blessing in our lives,
and for that I am always grateful.  He is my happiness.

What was supposed to be a relaxing and fun outing
yesterday, didn’t turn out exactly that way for me. The
day was beautiful. The food was good. The drinks
even better, but my heart was sad.  It’s still is.

Not doing much today, on the other hand by early
evening we will be bored and for all you know we
may just take a little trip downtown.  A good day to all.
Losing such a big part of your family is never easy ๐Ÿ˜ข

~ I loved you for your whole life and
I will miss you for the rest of mine~

Happy Thursday ~

My mom and dad gave their kids the greatest gift of all,
the gift of unconditional love. They cared deeply about who
we would be, and much less about what we would do...

I am so happy.  The last few days I have been
spending lots of time with my parents.  My mom has
pretty bad arthritis, and if I can help her in anyway
possible I will do so while they are close to us.

As always Sniff and I have been awake early.
He cries for his brushing, which he gets as soon as I
can get some clothes on.  He falls all over my feet and
never leaves until he is brushed and happy.

Food comes after brushing these days.  Once he
has eaten he goes back to bed with his dada.  They
both sleep for another couple of hours.  Sometimes
when Arvid gets up, Sniff does not want to move.

Yesterday my parents took Liliana and I out to lunch.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants.  The
food was delicious as always and we had a good
time all of us.  Arvid was busy doing other
things so he was happy with a Burger.

Yesterday during our walk we encountered a variety
of new friends.  Always happy and always have my
camera ready.  You never know what you will see.

Arvid and I have a busy day today.  Maybe we will
see my parents a little in the early evening.  For now
good morning everyone.  Wishing you all a happy day.

Life is good.  Sometimes we forget.
I love my life and the ones in it...

And The Heat Continues...

Life is a journey that must be travelled no
matter how bad the roads or accommodations...

A heat wave is mild to what we are having here in Branson, but at the same
time grateful that we do not have the humidity like we do in Florida right now.
No matter what this heat is "better"  Arvid says that one day when we do
go back to Florida we will be spending the summers here in Branson

We have a house here in Branson, so makes sense to get away from
the Florida humidity in summer.  At least that's the plan.  From Branson
it is easy to get to many other places, more specifically Chicago.

The hotel business is going very well.  No complaints there.  Business
is booming and we are doing good.  It is hard work at times, but
on the other hand, we are NEVER bored.  Can't remember what
boredom feels like.  Guess that is also good.  Branson is busy.

There are many new attractions for families with kids.  Summer vacation
is soon over.  Kids will be back to school.  Come September there
is a different crowd that comes to visit.  More grown up people and less
kids.  The theaters will be full.  People always seen to like
the shows.  We have not been to any as of yet, and being hotel
owners we can actually see them for free.  Hmm..

Arvid has finally realized that is way too hot to wear long sleeves sweaters.
All of a sudden he says, "I need to go buy some shirts."  About time he realized that.

Finally yesterday one of our favorite TV shows started up again.  SUITS.
Pretty interesting and now that one of the characters is dating Prince Harry in
real life it will be fun to see what happens.  Arvid loves his TV shows.
I don't really care if I watch or not.  When I get home in the evenings
the last thing I feel like doing is watching TV.  For Arvid it is his
way to relax.  Everyone does what works best for them.
Has been another HOT day here in Branson.

Happy Thursday all and may you always live in interesting times.

Television is an invention that permits you to be entertained
in your living room by people you won't have in your home...
