My Boys...

Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place...

It seems like I have not really been home yet.  After that long stay in Norway, I've been
home for just 2 days and then took off again to visit my family. Have had
a wonderful time seeing everyone and being together, but I still think I
am a little tired.  Still need to "recover" some more from travelling.

Looking forward once again to going home.  Short visits are very good. Like I
have said, sometimes better than long visits.  We all like company, but we also all like
when company knows it's time to leave.  I know of some "guests" that when they
visit they never like to leave.  Seems you have to kick them out of the door to get them
to go home.  Yep!  Short visits are the best.  Fun for everyone and pleasant memories.
Thank you all for the wonderful time.  The cherished moments will forever be with me.

Can already picture Arvid and Brutus' morning routine and I'm happy.

First thing Arvid does when he wakes up in the mornings is to take Brutus to eat.
This routine of theirs has been going on since we got Brutus and it continues like this several
times a day.  Brutus refuses to eat with me, but as soon as he  sees his dada, he gets him,
and drags him to where his food is.  Arvid has to stand and watch him while he eats,
then pat him on the "shoulder" once he, Brutus is done.  They both love it.

For me this is home.  This is where the 3 of us belong.

Our family is a a circle of strength and love with every birth and union it grows.
Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger...

Already Home...

Where we love is home, Home that our feet may leave,
 but not our hearts....

Home is where Arvid, Brutus and I are together.
We are back home and what a good feeling it is.

Home again....and happy.

The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes,
but in liking what one does...

Home.. No Place Like It...

Home is where love resides, memories are created,
friends always belong, and laughter never ends....

Friday night.  For us it was just relaxing to spend it at home with Brutus.  We relaxed and
spent the evening watching TV, enjoying some snacks, watching the boats pass by and
enjoying some Sangria.  Sangria was really good.  Unfortunately all I could manage
was a few sips.  Sadly after that the cough came so I had to quit it.  Luckily
Ice-Cream was there. Last night it was Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey.

Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort.  Yesterday we also tried out
a new place not too far from us for lunch.  As you walk in, there is nothing really
special about the place.  Though there was a large list of beers on tap, there was
nothing Arvid liked.  Ended up with a Corona.  Once the food arrived that was
different story.  Nothing fancy just chicken wings for Arvid
and crab legs for me.  Food was very good,

Well the day began on a good note.  Lots of Soccer for Arvid.  bacon and eggs
for breakfast and best of all no pill day for Brutus.  How could it be better?
Time to run around a little, meet some friends and start planning for the day.

Simply Saturday.  Everything shines when we
let our positive attitude shine through...

Time To Say Goodbye...

It's time to say goodbye.
Until the next time...

Arvid and I have had a very good time in Chicago, it is after all our favorite city.
That being said I can't wait to get home to Brutus, to see his little face and to pick him up.
If you remember the lat time I was with Brutus, I was in isolation and was not able to touch
him or play with him.  He did mot understand any of this.  When we get home,
I plan to make up for all of it.  He loves being brushed so he will be getting
 extra long sessions of brushing.

Being in Chicago is always a good experience, but for sure having your
own place does make a big difference.   We were in a perfect location.
Macy's and all my favorite stores were right across the street from us.
The park and all our musical venues were also minutes from us.

Everyday after breakfast I would take a a brief trip to one of my favorite stores
while Arvid relaxed in the room and watched the news or some other show on TV.
We would meet by noon and then do our tour of our favorite parts of Chicago.
Eat at our favorite spots and then do some pubbing or go and listen to music.
When in Chicago music is a must.  Everywhere you go there is music.
We also went to the Farmers Market, one of my favorite things to do
and yes did stock up on a few of my favorites.

The Blues weekend was a little cold in the beginning but since it was also
World Cup Games going on, we did a combination of both so when we did not
care for an artist we went and watched the game.  Was truly a very good time.
We both were happy with this arrangement.

Now it's time to go home and we are also very happy.  Not a day would go by
without me missing Brutus.  I asked Arvid if he missed Brutus and he said he
did not want to think of him because then he would miss him too much and would
want to go home.  We will be in Norway for a long time and I know that
everyday I will miss Brutus like crazy and want to be home with him.
Life sometimes gets  complicated.
The Park and City at night
We love Chicago, but it's not home anymore.  I know we will always come back,
but for now we are ready to go home.  Home is where Brutus is no matter
where we go.. Home is always best.  Home is Brutus, Arvid and I.
Home is where we will be today.

Home is where the heart is.
Home is where Brutus is waiting for us...
