Interesting Facts ~ December 28th

Positive anything is better than negative nothing.
You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind...

According to the 2020 census, Branson has a population
of close to 12 thousand people, with an annual 9 million visitors a
year.  Fort Lauderdale has an estimated 184 thousand people
living there. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
saw some 35.96 million passengers in 2018.  Not all made their
way out of the airport either, connections had to be made πŸ˜‚.

I just thought it was interesting, since we once again live
in Branson.  Come December 31st tourism in Branson will
"shut down"  In Fort Lauderdale, winter is prime season.  Nothing
like good warm weather when everyone else is freezing away.

Looking at the numbers.  Do the math.  Who sees more
visitors a year?  Branson's tourist season is from end of March
to end of December.  Fort Lauderdale is always in season 🌴.
Fort Lauderdale's population is also 15+ times more πŸ˜‚

This is going to be a mostly "warm" week.  Not
warm as in Fort Lauderdale, but warm for winter.
I love it and am enjoying cooler temperatures.

I miss Puerto Rico, my sister and all the little kitties there.
I have not gotten into a routine here as to exercising πŸ˜‚
(cold) I hope to get into it eventually.  Why does starting
seem to  always be the most difficult thing to do?

Hoping this week changes that a little since it's a "warm"
week.  Good day to all and enjoy everyday to the fullest.

You don't have to be great to start,
but you have to start to be great...

Sunday ~

If you want others to be happy practice compassion,
if you want to be happy practice compassion...

Sunday.  Covid Sunday at home.
Looking forward to better times ahead.

Missing our Sundays in Puerto Rico.  We were fortunate
for a few months.  We spent "COVID" months in Puerto Rico
where life sure was better. At least for us it was.

Freedom to do a few more things there than we allow
ourselves to do here in Fort Lauderdale.  Hopefully
soon we will also do a few more things here as well.

Happy Sunday to all wherever you are make it a good
and memorable day.  Things may not be exactly as we
all wish for them to be right now, but on the other
hand, we woke up to a new day.  Make it count.

Nothing nor no one interferes with their "beauty" sleep 😍

Always be happy, always wear a smile; not because
life is full of reasons to smile but because your
smile itself is a reason for many others to smile...

A New Week Begins ~ June 8th ~

We have a normal.  As you move outside of
your comfort zone, what was once the unknown
and frightening becomes your new normal...

Last week I went to the doctor.  Finally I had an
actual appointment to go and see him in person and
not this Face Time thing.  I refused to do the Face Time
consultation two times prior to my appointment.

The experience was bizarre.  Both the doctor
and I had on masks of course.  The doctor also
had on a protective shield over his mask. I
did not understand a single thing he said 😷.

After asking him to repeat several times I
gave up.  All I said was, "you look bizarre, and
you look like you're going into a battle right now.
You should be in a battlefield instead of this office."
Not sure he understood me either from under my mask.

As the new week begins, more and more openings
are happening all over these United States of America.

We have never been to the below mentioned beach,
but it sure looks beautiful.  Grayton Beach is a small,
historic beach village on the Florida Panhandle Gulf coast
halfway between Destin and Panama City.  Definitely
something to consider for a future weekend outing πŸ–

Hello Monday.  What's in store for us today?

🌝In the rush to return to normal, use
this time to consider which parts of
normal are worth rushing back to...

Puerto Rico ~

Some people come into our lives and they move our
souls to sing and make our spirits dance. They help us to
see that everything on earth is part of the incredibility of life,
and that it is always there for us to take of its joy. Some
people come into our lives and leave footprints on
our hearts and we are never ever the same...

Nothing better than to start the day with a leisure walk on the beach.
Strange, we live in Fort Lauderdale and we never go to the beach.

An ocean breeze puts a mind at ease.

Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints.

We all leave footprints as we journey through life
make sure yours are worth following.

After all is said and done, I look forward to going back
home to Sniff.  I miss his little face.  I miss my mornings
with him and I know he must be missing us very much.
Mama loves you and we will be home soon with you.

Happy day because we finally get to
see my sister Nirvana, and take her out to lunch.

Good morning to all from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
You can't leave footprints in the sands of time while sitting down.

Everybody has to look at his or her own footprint
and do the best they can. It's not about being perfect,
it's about doing something. If we're looking for
perfection, we'll never, ever get there...

Greetings From Sarasota ~

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step...

Arvid and I are back in Sarasota. Sarasota is a city
south of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf Coast that was once
the winter home of the Ringling Brothers Circus.

Arvid and I arrived early yesterday, and we did
not waste much time.  Little "party" going on and
a little time to do some sightseeing on our own.
Christmas spirit is everywhere and I love it.

Today, Sarasota hosts a number of cultural institutes,
notably the Ringling Museum of Art, which
showcases old masters and modern art.

Sarasota is also the gateway to miles of beautiful
beaches with fine sand and shallow waters,
such as Lido Beach and Siesta Key Beach.

It's what's know as one of Florida's hidden gems.
Just you, the sound of the waves and the breeze
of the palm trees.  It's definitely paradise.

Greetings to all from beautiful Sarasota.

Today I plan to explore a little more on my own.
Go to my favorite Indian restaurant, and do a little
Christmas shopping.  Perfect day if you ask me.

A year from now you may wish you had started today.

of a second-rate version of somebody else...

Early In The Morning ~

Whenever I am missing you, I also remember
how fortunate I was that you were in our lives.  I
wouldn't trade those moments for the world...

We have a long day ahead of us and I know I should go back to sleep.

I also know that it's not going to happen.  At least
Sniff is awake right now with me.  He has already had
his soft foodies and is now almost nodding off again.

Today we have an open house, and Arvid has his
favorite team (Liverpool) playing.  Guess it will
be me showing the customers around today.

Time for my cafe and a little time on the balcony.
It's very quiet not a soul is awake as far as I can see.
The streets are quiet and the Intracoastal is still.
No boats as yet.  Quiet right now is very good.

Sunday.  A perfect day to clear the mind of
all that has transpired the week before...
