If Tomorrow Never Comes... Thinking Of You Brutus ~

Memories are bullets. Some whiz by and only spook you.
Others tear you open and leave you in pieces...

November 5th will be 4 years since
Brutus died. I'm having "panic" attacks.  It's been
going on for some days now.    I know it's because I think
about it too much, but Brutus was my life, and
when he died a part of me died as well.

November 4th 2015
You know how they say that sometimes all it takes
is a song, a smell, a picture, a little something to
start a flood of memories you once thought
tucked away somewhere deep in you.

Last night, all it took was this song to transport
me to another place another time.  As they say,
"Every man's memory is his private literature. "

The song was sang in Americas Got Talent,
and there was not a single dried eye in the audience.
Had to do with the man singing it, and with the emotions
that were involved.  Even if you are not into Country music,
this song would have pulled deeply on something in you.
It did that to me.  Even Arvid was not dry eyed!

If Tomorrow Never Comes

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

Here is the original version performed by Garth Brooks.

It's not for everyone maybe, but I loved it.
Memories are what warm you up from the
inside. But they're also what tear you apart.

Another day and I'm grateful for it.  Some days
are more difficult that others, but it's called life
and life is not always the way we want it to be.

That being said, I am always grateful for Arvid, Sniff,
my family, friends,  and all the blessings I know I have in life.

Remembering is easy.
It's forgetting that's hard...

Saturday Bliss...

There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy...

My nephew Gabby and his girlfriend are in California visiting her dad.
Every so often Gabby sends a picture of places that at one time were so familiar.
The other night he sent one of the sunset.  Brought back many memories
of life in California and days touring Santa Monica Beach.

I am just so happy Gabby and Elia are enjoying almost 3 weeks in sunny California.
The boy and his girlfriend are both "on" Facebook, but one would never know
because he has never really posted a single thing there, and even though I no
longer check FB (yeah I deleted the App from my IPhone), I know him.

The other night Gabby sent me a picture of a lady and asked if I knew her.  Said she
was really old, really slow, but so very nice.  Long time ago she was a Hollywood movie
star, and she knew and was buddies with Marylin Monroe.  Seems like Elias dad is very
good friends with this lady and because of that they were invited to her home.
Yes they had the Hollywood treatment.  Gabby was happy and thrilled.

For the next few days he is living the California lifestyle.  Beaches,
mountains,  Hollywood, PCH, experiencing everything and enjoying it all.
California. What a beautiful place.  Home of my best friend and a
place that will forever hold special memories in my heart.

As for Arvid, Sniffer and I, we are doing good.  Sniff is getting more and more used to
being touched and held.   When we got back from Norway he was sleeping most of the day,
but now we have been playing a lot with him so he looks forward to playtime.
He now wants playtime all day long.  He such a cutie.  Love our Sniff.

Happy Saturday friends and cheers to more of the weekend ahead.

When someone told me I lived in a fantasy land, I nearly fell off my unicorn.
Keep smiling and one day life will get tired of upsetting you...

Sunday.. Day 3 Of The Chicago Blues Festival

Music expresses that which cannot be put into
words and that which cannot remain silent...

The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest free blues festival in the world and remains
the largest of Chicago's Music Festivals.  During three days on five stages, more than
500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the "Blues Capital of the World."

Yesterday was just too hot.  Arvid and I did not go to the Festival instead we listened to the
music from our balcony.  We also did some shopping for Sniff.  Now he has his own scratch pad.
He loved it right away.  Of course Arvid went on his knees and did some scratching on the
pad.  Sniff followed suit.  He did the same for Brutus and Shadow.  Arvid is special.

As Sundays go, Arvid talks to his family.  Today we go and listen to more music,
hopefully it will not be as hot as yesterday.  Sniff is good, but here he does not get as much
exercise as he should.  The apartment is much smaller than our Florida home,
and Sniff is not used to it as yet.  Hopefully soon he will be all adjusted.

To all a very happy Sunday.  Smile more than you cry.  Give more than you take,
and love more than you hate.  It's a beautiful day here in Chicago.  Check out our view.

A painter paints pictures on canvas.
But musicians paint their pictures on silence.
