New Week Begins ~ March 30th

The most beautiful way to start and
end each day is with a grateful heart...

My faith in Arvid has been restored 😍.  We had take-out
yesterday and he did not make much of a fuss about it.  As
usual he waited in the car as I went to pick it up.  He will
not get close to anyone.  Says he might catch the virus 🙊
There he is waiting in the car as I go in the restaurant.

Sundays are now becoming take-out days.  Hopefully
take-out will not end as well.  Right now in Boston many places
serving take-out no longer do.  Even that is not an option.

Aside from that we drove along the beach.  It was
very strange to see no one on the beck.  We did see many
riding bicycles and walking, but the beach is blocked off by
yellow tape, cones and the presence of police everywhere.

We cannot complain.  There are so many people
who have it so much worse.  My heart is in Branson and all
the people at Almost Home.  They are in desperate need,
I really wish I was there and could do a little more.

Once busy road and streets are now quiet.  The world is
definitely changing before our very eyes.  Hopefully at the
end of this virus, it will be a better world we live in.  The
sacrifices being made today hopefully will not be in vain.

Another week in in isolation begins, but we are
healthy, we have each other and we have what we need.
Like everyone, we make the best of the situation.
Today tell me, what are you grateful for?

I'm happy because the other day Arvid gave in, and decided it was
OK to have hot chocolate even though it is not cold.  It took a
little convincing from me, but he usually see's the light.
It's the simple things in life that brings most joy.

Gratitude turns what we have into enough.
Be grateful, enjoy the little things...

It's A Good Day ~

Success is getting what you want.
Happiness is wanting what you get...

As I mentioned yesterday, Arvid's mom turned 91.
She looks amazing for her age and she was out
and about town  enjoying her day as it should be.

Yesterday Arvid and I went visiting the duckies on the lake.
We always carry food for them as well.  The thing about
Chicago is to walk around.  That's the best way
to enjoy the city and to see everything.

Though it was a little cooler by the lake, it was
also the perfect weather for a walk.  We fed the duckies,
and we gave bread to a few kids to feed them as well.
It's the simple things we enjoy most, unlike so many.

For many it's how much you spend.
For us it's the simple pleasures that bring
a smile to us and makes us feel good.

Good morning everyone.  The day is a little cloudy
right now, but does not matter.  We are having
a good time and it is soon the weekend again.

Happiness is the best makeup.  It is not something
ready made.  It comes from your own actions...

A Good Day To Be Grateful ~

Train your mind to see the good in every situation.
Start everyday with a new hope, leave bad memories
behind, and have faith for a better tomorrow...

May has gone by in a flash.  Not sure what we did nor how it
happened, but it's almost time to say goodbye May and hello June.

Yesterday Arvid and I went to Kaluz.  One of our favorite
restaurants.  Not only because the food is good, buy also because
the views are relaxing and makes for a perfect setting to
end the week.  Life is sure good.  We make it so.

My sore throat is not quitting neither is my cough.
Bummer because I have not been able to talk
to any of my family since last Sunday.

Never have I gone this long without talking to them.
I talk to my mom at least every other day.  There is
always something to chat about.  Same with my
sisters.  At least 1-2 times a week is normal.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States
for remembering and honoring people who have died
while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

That is today.  All federal employees and government have
it off.  Private business, that's up to the employer.
Malls are still open as are grocery stores.

It's a day to celebrate, remember and honor those that
gave their lives in order for us to have a better one.
As they say, "Freedom is Never Free."

As the new week begins there are many little things
needing to be done before we leave for Chicago.
My priority is Sniff.  As long as he has what he needs
and is comfortable then the rest is good.

To all a Happy Memorial Day.  America, home of
the FREE because of the BRAVE.  May we never forget that.

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions.
The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more
likely you will have even more to express gratitude for...
