Thursday September 8th ~

Never regret a day in your life: good days give
happiness,  bad days give experience, worst days
give lessons, and best days give memories...

Sniff and I woke up, looked out the window and who was there?
None other than Mr. Squirrel eating all the bird seeds.  It's been a
while since he has climbed up the deck for foodies.  This time I
did not chase him right away.  I let him enjoy some nibbles.

The birds do keep me entertained.  Sometimes
I believe  more than they do Sniff.  Arvid of course could
care less.  Says he has enough to do.  I tell him sometimes
it's OK to take time and enjoy the little things
in life instead of always being so busy.

No matter how busy I am, I always find time to
enjoy a few of life's  pleasures.  Even when we were
working almost 10 hour days at Almost Home, I made
time to brush Sniff twice a day and to make sure all the
birdies and wildlife were fed.  I makes me happy.

I now realize that I have also grown attached to my wildlife friends.
One day when we have to leave it will also be difficult for me,
but I also know that we will be back every year, so that in a way
makes it OK.  My PR kitties I will never see them again.

I do have my Sniff and he makes me happy.  I love him and
thankful everyday that he came into our lives.  That being said, the
other day I picked up my Lil Mysulf.  He has on Brutus' clothes.

I tried to smell them but there was no longer any of Brutus'
scent on them.  Suddenly I was back to grief in full swing.  I cried
so hard that Sniff was scared.  I didn't/don't want Sniff scared.

As always it's good to be back home.  As I always
say, No matter how far we travel the memories will
follow in the baggage car.  Home is always best.

A few of the highlights from Greeley, Colorado:

We drove 12 hours and my most favorite part of the trip
was our first evening at Rio Grande Mexican restaurant.

It's good to be back home.  No matter where we go home is best.
Sniff lost not time is getting comfy.  We are all happy.

Remember how far you've come, not just how
far you have to go. You are not where you want to be,
but neither are you where you used to be...

Thursday June 16th ~

No one is so brave that he is not
disturbed by something unexpected...

The other day my arm was very swollen from these
bites that I really cannot explain.  All I know is that every
time I step outdoors withing a half an hour I develop another
red welt or two.  It got to the point where a couple of my
tenants said it loos really swollen and bruised.

I am now convinced that my right arm is allergic
to something on the outside.  The what I am not sure about.
Makes it really difficult to run a hotel and not have to go
on the outside.  I guess I will just have to live with it and
hope that soon whatever it is that's affecting me
 will disappear from the environment.

I did give in and went to the doctor.  I think he was more
afraid to touch my arm than anything else.  He maybe
thought I was infected with some weird disease.  I really
hope I'm not.  Just to be on the safe side I asked if if
he thought I would die from it, but he didn't think so.

On the other hand, the vet that treated Brutus also told
me that Brutus won't die from his amputation surgery.
Well, our Brutus did die from it.  There were
other factors involved in Brutus' death.

The doctor recommended a tetanus shot. Well I got it.
Here I was thinking that I had to be bitten by something
or someone or step on a nail to need a tetanus shot.

The skin broken by an insect bite could become infected
with tetanus bacteria. You can prevent this type of infection
by keeping up to date with tetanus shots. Adults should
have a tetanus booster shot every 10 years my doctor said.

That is life.  One of these days it will "stabilize"
In the meantime there is good food to make me feel better.

Life has many ways of testing a persons will.
Either by having nothing happen at all or by
having everything happen all at once...

Black Friday 🖤 ~

Go to the mall on Black Friday, they said.
You will never come out alive, they said...

And the shopping frenzy has begun. Good luck.🖤

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.  This would
be Friday November 26th, but if you listen to retailers,
Black Friday already began at the start of the month.

Yes, if you've waited until the actual day, you're out
of luck.  And that is according to most major retailers
such as Amazon, Best Buys, Target and Walmart.

As most Americans know, Black Friday is one
of the biggest deal shopping events of the year.  On
Black Friday, almost every major retailer offers big
discounts on holiday gifts, hottest toys of the year,
apparel, kitchen gifts tech gadgets and more.

Traditionally on Black Friday some shoppers stay
up late the night of Thanksgiving (not us) or wake
up early to line up in front of stores for early
 morning openings and doorbuster deals.

In light of COVID-19 many stores closed
on Thanksgiving 2020 and shoppers were
 directed to online shopping instead.

The major retailers have already kicked off their
Black Friday sales.  Some as early as October 🙈  Sure
there are great deals to be made, but at the same time, the
lines, the crowds, the pushing (if you went to the stores).

I was never a Black Friday shopper.  My loss, but I'm OK
with that.  Didn't do it before won't start now. Somedays
my mind and my thoughts are still far far away🖤 .

To those who will be heading out early in the
morning good luck and hopefully you find the deals
you're looking for. Don't forget Cyber Monday.

Whoever said money can't buy happiness
simply didn't know where to go shopping...
