Saturday August 7th ~

Everyday is a good day,  just some days are better...

Yesterday Arvid gets a call from a guy he knows in
Fort Lauderdale. He is visiting Puerto Rico and is
thinking of maybe moving here permanently.

Next thing I know, Arvid says he will be
showing Dave around.  I didn’t want to go,
but did agree to meet them for lunch.

Dave is a non stop talker.  He knew everyone
and everything.  Reminded us of a few people we
know 😱, even so it was an entertaining time.

I also learnt a brand  new expression (for me it's
new)  It’s called catfishing.  Of course this also
made me laugh because I do know a few people who
when you see their online profile it's NOTHING
compared to what they look like in real life😂.

As Arvid said, “our nephew J knows all about this."
He experienced it first hand.  J was the one who
first mentioned it to Arvid a while back.

Seems like these women touch up their pictures
so much that when you do meet, it’s as if
you’re meeting a totally different person.

Dave said that many online profiles are this way
Facebook, dating apps etc.  I also know a few people
like this   Their profile picture and the real them is
like night and day.  They're some people I have
no clue what they look like without makeup.

I love all the Apps that can edit pictures and
stuff, but when it starts to get too unrealistic
then something is definitely wrong here.

It's like how can a person look the same way
today as they did 5-10 years ago.  Face totally
smooth to the point it's really shiny.  Not a single
wrinkle,  that is until you see them in real time.
Dave really made me laugh😂 yesterday.

Another warm day here.  Arvid is back to
checking the daily cases of Covid.  Not so
good right now.  It's starting all over again.

A very good friend of ours back home in Florida
has been tested positive for this new strain.  He's
vaccinated, but at the same time he is in his 80's.

A happy day to all.  Arvid and I do enjoy our balcony time.

At the end of the day, I am thankful my
blessings are bigger than my problems...

Monday December 28th ~

What you tell yourself everyday will
either lift you up or tear you down...

In just a few days it's bye bye 2020.
Yes, the countdown is on. We are ready.

Arvid and I have been spending lots of time enjoying our
hammock and scenic Puerto Rico from the comfort of our balcony.
Arvid said to me, "I wish I didn't have to go back to Florida."
It is what it is, and you have to do what you have to do.
We are not gone yet and I am already missing PR.

Sniff and I will be having some alone time for the next
few days.  I don't mind a few days on my own.  Actually
I like it.  Not that I will be doing anything differently, but
I think it will be very relaxing to be alone for a little.

Sniff is definitely going to miss Arvid a lot, and I
think Arvid is going to miss having Sniff follow him
everywhere.  They have a good routine, and I love
seeing them together.  Yeah, we will miss Arvid.

There is a lot to keep me busy, so I'm happy for that.
Morning walk was done and kitties fed.  Even happier about
that.  The last Monday in 2020.  Happy new week all.

Everyday is different, and some days are better than others,
but no matter how challenging the day, I get up and live it...

Pandemic Times~😬

You are braver than you believe, and stronger
than you seem, and smarter than you think...

Many businesses are still booming even with the
pandemic.  Construction is still going on in the
🏠 downtown area of Fort Lauderdale  If the
clientele is there or not, that's another story.

Not so long ago I read that more and more people
wanted to move out of the downtown area and into
the suburbs.  Why?  Because with this  pandemic most
people have had to work from home.  A new norm now.

Many say they prefer not to be in the city because
of the traffic, noise and other stuff.  They would rather
buy something in the suburbs, work from home and
enjoy peace and tranquility.  Of course not everyone
feels that way, but many do.  To each their own.

Good morning everyone.  The helicopters are already
hovering over our area.  Looking for another criminal
probably.  Since COVID has surged here in Fort
Lauderdale/Florida, the crime rate has escalated.

Every night on the news you hear of someone 😲
murdered in Fort Lauderdale.  Crime is not unusual
here in South Florida, but to see so much violence,
murders close to home is something else.  Hopefully
one day things will be better again.  Has to right?🤷

The things you can see only when you slow down...
