Friday January 12th ~

A comfort zone is a beautiful place,
but nothing ever grows there...

My parents have already received both doses of the
Covid vaccine.  I can breathe a little easier and can
the restof the family.  Mom and dad are older and
we feel this is an extra protection for them.

Nirvana and kids have also had their 2nd dosage
yesterday, and Reshma who was the first to receive her
vaccine, got her second dose on Wednesday.  In Norway
Arvid's mom already got her first dosage.  Pretty
soon she will also receive the second.

Arvid can get the vaccine if he so wants, but right now
we have both decided to wait and see how it goes.  I can't
get mine right away, but I am also hesitant as to
what to do when that day gets here.  🙈

I am leaning towards getting it.  By the time it's
my turn months would have passed and we will know
more, and hopefully it's then available to all of us.

Friday.  We stay home again. Have Piña Coladas
and watch TV.  Now what's not so exciting here?

Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried
with fewer tensions and more tolerance...

Wednesday April 29th ~

As you wait for better days, don't forget to
enjoy today, in case they've already started...

Yesterday I took Sniff to the vet.  A very different.
experience from what it used to be. We got to the parking lot.
Called the office.  Waited for someone to call and take a
little history.  In a few minutes, a technician came
to the car and whisked Sniff away.

The vet said Sniff looks great, but she needed to talk
to me about his weight.  She said the last time he was there,
this was December 2019, his weight was 14.02 pounds.
Yesterday he was 14.08, and that was not good.

All I said was "this is not an exaggerated weight
gain from December."  Seems like the vet thinks it is.
Said we have to start counting Sniffs calories.

All of this over the phone because now no one
is allowed to go into the building.  They came
for Sniff and they brought him back to me.

They took some blood from Sniff to check his
kidneys and liver.  When the vet called me as I was
waiting in the car, all I said was, "please be gentle
with him."  I couldn't be there with him 😢.

All in all Sniff was given a clear bill of health.
Blood work pending.  He was also given an
appetite stimulant, because he has not
been eating as he normally did 😢

The stimulant is a gel and I rub a drop on his ear.
Within an hour, Sniff was begging for food.
He has a schedule, but he wants more.  Breaks my
ðŸ’”, but I need to be strong and not give in.

After his "ordeal" at the vet, Sniff got a lot of
extra love and attention.  As you can see in the above
picture, he is resting in his favorite spot.  Between
Arvid's legs is where Sniff is most happy.

One more day closer to the end of this lockdown
we are living in.  One more day closer to better days
ahead.  Good morning everyone.  Let's make
today and everyday a memorable one.

Wednesday already.  Here's to better days.  When you
feel out of sorts, remaining positive is easier said than
done. Although everyone is not up to making lemonade
when life delivers lemons, it’s important to remember that
the setback is temporary. Realize sunny skies are ahead.

If you were a quitter you would have given up on
life a long time ago. The fact that you're still here
proves that you're a fighter with hopes of better days...

Early Sunday Morning ~

When life puts you in tough situations
don't just say "why me" just say "try me"...

The past week has been one with many challenges.   Stressful and at
times not good.  Hopefully the week ahead will be much better,
and all the mistakes of last week will somehow be corrected.

Yesterday was a relaxing day for both of us.  I did not go in
to work, and Arvid only popped in for a little over an hour.  We had
lunch at home and most of the morning was spent watching soccer.
Not me, but Arvid and at times Sniff was watching as well.

It's Sunday morning and too early to be awake, yet here I am.  Wide awake
having my cafe with Brutus and Shadow.  Sniff knows it's not wake
up time as yet so he made a brief appearance and went back to bed.
Smart kitty. Hopefully I will soon go back to bed and fall asleep.

We have had some beautiful days here.  I love, love the weather.
Never thought I would prefer the cold to the heat the way I do.  It just perfect.

Every day Sniff is endearing himself more and more to us.
We have some kind of a  routine with him.  Sniff is a chatter
and when he wants something he sure will let us know.
Soon Sniff will have been with us for 2 years.

I think of our Brutus everyday.  His picture is the only picture we have
hanging in our living room.  It's impossible to not "see" him everyday.
I really really miss that kitty.  He was my baby. How I miss him.

To this day I have not been able to think of Sniff as my baby,
but I know it's coming.  We think of Shadow, but we try
very hard not to go there.  That is just too much.

Almost 2am  Time to maybe try and get some sleep.
Both Arvid and Sniff are tucked in and sound asleep.

When you start each day with a grateful heart, light illuminates from within.
Good morning.  When the world says, "give up" Hope whispers, "try one more time"...
