Tuesday In Puerto Rico ~

The most beautiful things are not associated with
money; they are memories and moments. If you
don't celebrate those, they can pass you by...

Getting used to being on island time and trying to not get
impatient as often as I do.  Difficult, but it's a learning process.
Taking me much longer than Arvid.  When I want something
done, I want it done right away.  Not happening.  As yet 😲.

The complex we live in is big.  Very steep climb so makes
for a good walk.  Yesterday we went walking closer to  6pm.
What a huge difference between walking here in Puerto Rico compared
to walking back home in Fort Lauderdale, at the same hour.

Our walk was made even better by the ocean breeze.
I love the breeze here in the island.  No matter how hot
it gets, there is always a breeze to cool you down.

There are many kitties here.  Of course I took food
on our walk with hopes of seeing one.  We sure did and
I slept better knowing she/he was full last night.

Good morning all.  Busy day today.  Things to do, places to go.

You shouldn’t wait for other people to make special
things happen. You have to create your own memories...

Vibes~

A wise man never loses anything, if he has himself...

Yesterday we had a relaxing time at home.
Arvid met with a friend from Norway, we then went
to Miami and it was back home for a few games
of soccer.  Very relaxing and peaceful.

Yesterday was also special because we were
treated to a delicious dinner by Michelle and
family and also by Victoria and Michael.  It was
dinner with a view.  Spent with loved ones.

Tuesday is looking good.  Will be seeing
everyone again today.  Today is Michelle and
family's last day here for this time.

They leave for Norway tomorrow, and the truth
being told, I think they are not sad about leaving.
Especially the two little girls.  Home is Norway, and
like I always say, there is no place like home.

Happy Tuesday to all.  It's soon balcony time.

I have decided to be happy,
because it’s good for my health...

Hello Tuesday ~

How you choose to feel today
should not be dependent on others...

What we love about where we live is the fact
that we have the opportunity to be on the water,
and to see boats passing by all day long.

Just a few minutes ago this was just one of those huge
yachts we get to see all the time.  It makes life interesting
and never boring.  Always something happening.

Even when the crews are just cleaning the boats.
Keeps us entertained and sometimes guessing

as to what is going on.  Keeps us entertained.

Occasionally Arvid and I wonder if we could or
would like to live elsewhere.  At times we say yes,
but then we always think of all the thing we like
and enjoy and we realize all over again that
we are exactly where we want to be.

The week is warming up.  I know what we call
cold is actually a summer day for many.

Hello all wishing you a day to remember
and always be kind whenever possible.

If you want to live a happy life,
tie it to a goal, not to people or things.
Happiness is not by chance, but by choice.
The only reason you are happy is because
 you choose to be happyHappiness
is a choice, and so is suffering...

Puerto Rico ~

Life’s true gift lies in your freedom to design it beautifully.
With each rise of the sun, you get to chase the opportunity to
fill your days with meaning—to live your life the way you choose....

Puerto Rico is my childhood home.  My sister Rima
was born there and there we met the kindest people in the
world, and PR definitely has the best food as far as I am
concerned.  I'm talking typical Puerto Rican food.

If you go to Puerto Rico make sure you check out
Plaza Las Americas.   Even their food court has amazing food.

Definitely has it's fair share of amazing sunsets.

Stunning beaches and palm trees galore.  Island living at its best.

Whatever you want you will find.  You just need
to know where to go, who to ask.  My favorite umbrella drinks.

The piña colada is an internationally famous drink,
but many may not know that it originated in Puerto Rico
In 1978 Puerto Rico proclaimed the cocktail its official drink.

The food, the drinks, coffee there is nothing that
one can find fault with.  I love Puerto Rican food.
One of my favorites of all times, if not my favorite.
The flavors are outstanding.  Indian food is also on the
top of my list. Either of the two, you can never go wrong.

There is something for everyone.  Even Arvid
whose palate is a little more "selective" than mine.

The views from my sisters home are beautiful.
She has the mountains as her backyard.  She's also
fortunate to have a condo in the city, which is where
she lives most of the time when not in Miami.

It's always good times when I spend it with my sister/sisters.
Once we get back home, I definitely will have to refrain
from these island drinks for a while.  So far we have
had quite a few, but boy it's been delicious.

Arvid and Nirvana get along really well.  Together the
3 of us always have some very good times.   I am really
grateful that he gets along with all of my family.  Some of course
a little better than others, but that just has to do with the fact
that he knows a few of my sisters better than others.

I'm loving every moment here in Puerto Rico.
Here is to the many memories I will forever cherish.

I enjoy life when things are happening.  I don't care if it's
good things or bad things.  That means you are alive.  Life
doesn't require that we be the best only that we try our best...

Sunday To Relax ~

The magic thing about home is that it feels good
to leave, and it feels even better to come back...

Always good to be back home no matter where we go.
Our Las Vegas-California trip was a fun time.  I got
to enjoy time with my sisters, Anna and Arvid.

Our first stop on the way to California was to my
friend's Anna's home.  We were met with a little feast.
Anna being Anna made quite the meal for us, and everyone
ended up with a present.  Now myself and all my sisters
have something from California given to us by Anna.

Of course I got reacquainted with Anna's fur babies,
Bowe Bowe and Edwina.  Fortunately for me,
they seemed to like me and I love them.

It was lots of fun to walk the strip with my sisters
and Arvid. Together we had a lot of fun and shared
laughter.  An experience I will always remember.

That being said, it's so good to be back home.
To sleep in our own bed and to have breakfast at home.
It's been too many days eating out.  Now we look
forward to eating at home for a while.  Danielle left
this morning.  It's quiet and we like quiet best.

Wishing everyone a relaxing day.  The simple things
in life are the ones that brings the most joy and
makes us the happiest.  Everyday.  Always.

The mind should be allowed some relaxation,
that it may return to its work all the better for the rest...

Friday Again ~

It's your game, make your own rules...
When we moved into our apartment in Chicago
we never really got rid of all the things it came with.
We just moved in and sorta "forgot" that we
needed to give away few items.

Luckily for us there is a donation drive organized
by the salvation Army.  Perfect time to give
away what we don't need, and best
of all it's going to a good cause.

Coming from Branson we have lots of winter
clothing,  including shoes.  In a bag and ready to
donate.  Also lots of canned items I bought this
summer and did not really use.  By next summer
for sure they will not be good so away they go.

Arvid has also found quite a lot of clothes
he has not used for years.  I really did not
want him to give them up, but the truth is
he has not used them in a very long time.

They are still neatly ironed from the dry cleaners.
I told him to take a few back to Florida, but
his answer was "I don't have more hangars"

It's not the warmest of days right now, but will
be warming up soon.  Today looks like
a typical fall day.  Coldish and grey.

Looks like the rain, thunder and lightning is
about to start.  Sniff is already running to Arvid.
Hello Friday, hope you treat us good today.

Welcome to Friday. In preparation for takeoff,
please ensure all negative attitudes are properly stowed.
On behalf of your captain, Jack Daniels and myself,
welcome aboard. I expect sunshine and good
attitudes today for our trip. Enjoy the ride...
