Brutus......

There are many intelligent species in the universe. They are all owned by cats......There is something about the presence of a cat... that seems to take the bite out of being alone

Here we are in Norway doing good but for some reason I am awake way too early today and what do I do?... I wonder about Brutus and how he is doing.
I know he is doing good but it is difficult for me to not think of him and constantly worry if everything is good with him.  Even Arvid wonders about him especially at nights when he normally tucks him to be.

Brutus has a new pet sitter and she is a very nice girl so in that sense we know he is well cared for....our little baby kitty....miss you and love you.....

What greater gift than the love of a cat.....
Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a purpose

Norway....Land Of The Midnight Sun...

I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it

Every year Arvid and I go to Norway for about 3 weeks.  Honestly, it is way too long for me but, I do understand...you see all of Arvid's family lives in Norway so in these 3 weeks we make the most of the time to catch up with everyone and at the same time to visit some other European country.

Norway, also known as The Land of The Midnight Sun has some stunningly beautiful sights....the mountains and the fjords happen to be my favorite...

This year I am not that relaxed because for the first time we will be leaving Brutus with a pet sitter he is not familiar with.  I know he will be OK but, we still worry about him.....

As usual looking forward to enjoying myself and getting to always bond more with Arvid's family....

Families are like fudge... mostly sweet with a few nuts.

Weekend...

The only reason why we ask other people how their weekend was is so we can tell them about our own weekend.

As usual the weekends for us are always filled with fun and exciting things to do.  This is our last weekend here in Chicago.....since we will be leaving for Norway this Sunday.  That being the case we will try to do as much as possible before leaving.

Weekend started early for us.  Yesterday we went to the Chicago Yacht Club and had something delicious to drink......and then had a nice long walk along the lake.  Was a beautiful day and we made the most of it.

Already for today we went walking downtown...getting a few things to take back o Norway....

In a few minutes we most likely will go by the River and enjoy a little snack and something to drink.
There is always something to do and we sure know how to make the most of our time....tomorrow have a full day planned also.....saddest part of this is that soon will have to leave Brutus....

To everyone...have a great weekend...

There aren't enough days in the weekend

until later...

Alone Time...

Inside myself is a place where I live all alone, and that's where I renew my springs that never dry up.....

Being able to share your life with that someone special is truly one of the best joys I have experienced... as I can imagine so has many of you that have that someone special you can count on and know that no matter what they will be there for you.

But....if I were honest with myself (and I always am), I have to also admit to love having some time for just me...call it my alone time.  I am sure Arvid likes it also...but this is my blog so will focus on how much I appreciate it...haha!!

We do just about everything together, and don't get me wrong I do love it.  I enjoy every moment but, there comes a time when there are certain things I like and he does not and vice versa...then it is OK to have some time alone.

Being alone for a few days also makes us appreciate each other more...never take each other for granted...that's the secret of happiness.

With Arvid not here for a few days I get to take my time and do some stuff I really enjoy...just browsing the malls for instance without hearing "are you done"?

I get to try out some restaurants I want...not just the same ones we frequent all the time.  I may find out that it is not to my liking but so what at least I tried it....truth there is nothing I would not do with him but the opportunity to just being able to do it without fretting about rushing home to do so and so is nice for a change....

It means I work more but I do everything at a much faster pace just so that I can have some free time to do some fun things.....

Going to see a movie he may not like...that's fun to me.....but, after all is said and done.............the best times of my life are those shared with Arvid.....

Here I am sitting all alone in our apartment...Arvid barely gone for a couple hours and it is so quiet....so very quiet......  He's my soul mate and the man I want to spend forever with....Everyone says that you only fall in love once, but that's not true, every time I hear his voice I fall in love all over again.

In a soulmate we find not company but a completed solitude.

in Arvid I have found that soulmate...

How much would you pay for the best water on earth?

Common sense ain't common.....

Saw this article about expensive bottled water and could not resist sharing it.  Just goes to show that there are all kinds of "crazies" out there....are you one of them?

Cloud Juice  $11.36
Why so much? They say it's 9,750 drops of rain drops. Cheesy but could it be true? Either way, this rain water hasn't hit ground and the company claims that it is the cleanest rain water in the world, collected in King Island, Australia.

Berg  $11.67

Why so much? Ancient Canadian iceberg water. Canada, by the way, claims the second-best water in the world.

10 Thousand BC  12.50

Why so much? Apparently it takes a glass-lined ocean barge three days to arrive at the source of this water along the Coastal Glacier Mountain Range 200 miles north of Vancouver.

Finé  $20

Why so much? Japan ranks as another top habitat for water. This bottle comes from an aquifer found by the family-owned company that they believe perfectly represents the healing mineral water of Japan.

.

What are you honestly thinking right now?
Idiots.
Frankly, kinda curious to taste them.
I'm thinking, this can't be environmentally ok.

I am a simple girl and for me nothing beats my good old....

Common sense is as rare as genius, - is the basis of genius”

Danielle....

You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.

My niece Danielle is here with us and has been here for a week already.  She is  leaving tomorrow and I am already missing her.  What a wonderful person to have around us.

She is out spoken... some what like me....never afraid to say to either Arvid nor I what she wants and what she's thinking.  We have had some hilarious moments with her.

Our last night with her and Arvid has her hooked on some TV shows already.....

Danielle is my eldest niece. At only 15 she has already applied for over 10 summer jobs, does part time pet sitting and has always maintained a 4.0 average in school.

On top of that she is in the advanced program at her school and in between classes she finds time to tutor math and reading.....and does volunteer work at a a nursing home...she's only 15 and one of the most positive persons I know...I LOVE YOU MISSY!!

Aunts and Uncles have an opportunity to relate to their niece in a way that her parents can't. Since she is not in their care, they do not feel the weighty responsibility of knowing that they are responsible for her upbringing. This leads to a different kind of relationship in which they can relate to their niece by appreciating her unique talents and gifts that make her so special. They can spend time spoiling her and treating her like the princess she is.

What Gets On Your Nerves???

A pet peeve is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to them, to a greater degree than others may find it.

Here are a few things that really get to me.....

People visiting then never leaving...sounds petty but sometimes there are people who never know when is ENOUGH!!

Girls drinking....double standard but for some reason I se men drinking as the norm and when I see a girl doing the same it makes me think less of her especially when they get drunk and totally stupid.  Seeing a guy get drunk and stupid also pisses me off......drunk people do not know how stupid they look and act.....they think it's funny.

People calling at all hours of the day/night....come on everyone there is such a thing as a little too much calling....like you we also appreciate our quality time.....

People who talk non stop ...and about nothing that really matters...lots of gossip and no substance...please save us....

Mouth Noises/chewing with mouth open...it really annoys me to see people chewing with their mouts open...all those sound...not something we really want to hear....chew with your mouth CLOSED!

This is a good one...drivers who do not use turn signal..........of course then there are those that use them and never turn them off.

Another thing that really get me mad is people not saying thank you.  I was raised to always say please and thank you.  Thday I have noticed than not many of the young ones do that...what a shame.  Happy because my sisters have all raised their children the right way.  It goes a long way.....

Slackers....so annoying.  Expecting everyone to do everything for them.

Lack of independence and fear to do anything.....big no no...

What are yours?

Check out this list of pet peeves.......

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people that annoy me.

Her Size Is 6.....

I just logged on to my emails and what do I see.....got it from an aunt and thought I would share it with you.  Hope it makes your day as it just did mine.....:)

Men are a luxury, not a necessity , when a man of 40 falls in love with a girl of 20, it isn't her youth he is seeking but his own.

WIFE: ' What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?
HUSBAND: ' Definitely not!
WIFE: ' Why not? Don ' t you like being married? '
HUSBAND: ' Of course I do.
WIFE: ' Then why wouldn't you remarry?
HUSBAND: ' Okay, okay, I ' d get married again. '
WIFE: ' You would? '
HUSBAND: .......?
WIFE: ' Would you live in our house? '
HUSBAND: ' Sure, it ' s a great house. '
WIFE: ' Would you sleep with her in our bed? '
HUSBAND: ' Where else would we sleep? '
WIFE: ' Would you let her drive my car? '
HUSBAND: ' Probably, it is almost new. '
WIFE: ' Would you replace my pictures with hers? '
HUSBAND: ' That would seem like the proper thing to do. '
WIFE: ' Would you give her my jewelry? '
HUSBAND: ' No, I ' m sure she ' d want her own. '
WIFE: ' Would she wear my shoes '
HUSBAND: ' No, her size is 6. '
WIFE: -- silence -
HUSBAND: ' shit.

I never married because there was no need. I have 3 pets at home which answer the same purpose as a husband. I have a dog which growls every morning, a parrot which swears all afternoon and a cat that comes home late at night.

Just for Fun....

July 4th Weekend...

“Freedom is never given, it is won.”

I feel very fortunate to be living in the USA...there is no better place on earth as far as I am concerned.  I have traveled a bit and would never choose any other place to call home.

Being born in a different county makes you appreciate the USA even more.  Here we have the freedom to say and do what we like....
I have also lived in many states within the USA and I have to say that today my favorite place to call home is Chicago....

All summer long there is so much to do.  Again we tried to make it to Taste of Chicago...unfortunately there were over 1 million people in the park....never-the-less I had a great time just maneuvering through the crowd....we did manage to see/hear a bit of Steve Miller Band.

After we decided we did not wish to fight with the crowd we headed for a quieter spot and just relaxed....as you can see Arvid is already relaxing with his weekend drink...

We also did a bit sight seeing....and let me tell you there is a lot to see....
As usual we had a great time....

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

PS: that flag was taken in Macys...the flag is 7 stories tall and Macys has a total of 12 stories....
