Busy Days Ahead....Continued..

A man has always to be busy with his thoughts if anything is to be accomplished.

OK...we have had our relaxed and quiet time now begins another kind of fun stuff.....showing customers around our "island".

The first batch arrives today and then tomorrow 4 others.  Interesting to see how everything turns out.

One set speaks Norwegian...good thing because as you know Arvid is Norwegian.

The second batch is a couple from Spain...only speaking Spanish.   Here is where I put my Spanish skills to work.....and there is a couple from Italy who I was lead to believe speak both English and Spanish.  Will be interesting to have them all in our car and see how everyone interacts.

Yes, we do have a pretty big car.....

Tiny problem.  The second set of people come to an airport that is 2 hours away from us and are staying in a hotel that's an hour and a half from us.  The best part about that is that they are staying in this beautiful place called The Cove.

In the meantime we are planning our schedule.  Should be an interesting time.  Looking forward to it.....In the meantime let me go and enjoy the coconut Arvid got me.....while Arvid does some work....

Everything is perfect...just missing our Brutus to make it complete...

It often happens that a man is more humanely related to a cat or dog than to any human being....

The difference between friends and pets is that friends we allow into our company, pets we allow into our solitude

We are missing our little Brutus.....

Busy Days Ahead...

“I put all my genius into my life; I put only my talent into my works.”

Enjoying the lazy quiet days here but even so was looking forward to going back home on Friday because we miss Brutus and we have so much to do right now.  Also, I was looking forward to visiting my sister and family over the weekend.  We had not seen them for quite a while so Arvid and I were excited about that.

Reshma and Sachin live right here in Florida and will soon be moving to another state.  I miss them already and want to see them so much.

Now we will not be going back home for another week.  Good and not so good...good because we are staying back for business.  We have customers flying in to look at some of our properties here in the island.  We have customers coming in from The Dominican Republic and from Europe.  Bad because missing Brutus and missing out on seeing my sister and family....The good thing is that we enjoy what we do and always have a good time.

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.

Well time to make ourselves busy and get ready for our customers......

You do your best work if you do a job that makes you happy.....

until next time...

Rainy Days....

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
Today the skies opened up and it poured and poured.  I don't mind the rain in fact I like it what I don't like is lightining.  Gladly there was none of that.  Arvid hates the rain.   Even with all of this drenching we managed to accomplish many things today...so we felt good.  Of course after that, we decided to just stay cozied up indoors...not so bad after all....
Got a lot accomplished also while at home.  Managed to take care of some real estate customers overseas and do some paperwork which as you know never ends.  All in all not a bad day.  Now the weather is clearing up and I can see the rainbow.....

Well hope your day was good also.  Remember it is what we make of it that matters.......keep smiling and the world smiles back at you.....always

Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.

until next time....

Back In The Lil Red House.....Eleuthera, Bahamas

Give your stress wings and let it fly away.

We are once again in Eleuthera, our home away from home.  It has been a little over two months since we have been to our Lil Red House.  Needless to say we were a bit nervous thinking we would be walking into a lot of work that needed to be done.......surprise it was in almost perfect condition.

We left home and as soon as we were in the plane Arvid slept...he claims he never sleeps on a plane but, I have the evidence......

The flight was great, next thing we did was to go and collect our car.....bummer we had a flat tire...not a problem we have our own emergency pump in the car so we fixed that withing minutes...

Got to our home and was delighted all at once by the sounds of the waves and the total silence.....Sleeping the first night was just blissful not a sound to be heard...no sirens, no blasting horns, dogs barking....nothing like you would find in a big city.

For a while this is our Paradise and we are enjoying it.
The first night we did nothing just relaxed, cleaned a bit and watched some TV......totally peaceful.  The best thing is that the telephone NEVER rang....Arvid was soooooo.......happy.

Today we did some yard work...always fun to do out here but, you'd never catch me doing it back in Fort Lauderdale.  We are not yard people.  We are city people but for some reason when here we really enjoy it.  I pulled weeds and Arvid used the weed wacker......

To end the day we decided to go to one of our favorite spots....Sky Beach Club.  I did not have my usual Pina Colada.  Today it was Rum Punch and boy was it good...before I knew what was going on my glass was empty.....

We are so very happy here...the only one missing is Brutus.  He did not come on this trip because it was short and we do not want to stress him out too much....and the truth is that is paperwork was expired.  I did not want to run the risk of him being deported.....

We are enjoying ourselves very much here and loving every moment......

Arvid's Birthday...

“And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”

Today is Arvid's birthday...unlike most people who look forward to birthdays he does not.  Very strange man but, I love him so very much.  He has unique qualities that make him totally irresistible to me.

He never wants gifts but is happy to just go to a concert as we did last night...we went to The Hard Rock Cafe and Casino and saw John Fogerty in concert.  He never disappoints....the concert was a total success.

Another thing Arvid enjoys very much is just going out and having a quiet dinner.....just the two of us.  He is not into parties and that sort of things.  Likes it quiet and relaxing.  Sometimes I think of throwing him a party but, he tells me that he would not show up.  He is so wicked.....(in the best of ways).

Today I will be taking him out to dinner....for him dinner is not so much about the food rather it's about the ambiance and, today he wants to go to Shooters in Fort Lauderdale.  That's where we will go.....

Brutus has already wished him a very happy birthday and is now happily sleeping in his corner.  Arvid's family has also wished him birthday wishes and so has mine...very nice start for a very beautiful day.....lets see where the rest of the day leads.  ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT WILL BE GREAT....

Happy Birthday my dear I love you and we are very lucky to have you in our lives....

Two souls with but a single thought,
two hearts that beat as one....
it's us..

Texas with Rima and Family....

I'm here in Texas with Rima and family having a great time.  So good seeing them.  Enjoying the time I have with my sister her husband nephews, Lilly and Dexter very much.

I only get to see them once a year so as you can imagine I am making the most of the visit.  My sister Rima and I went shopping..shopping and more shopping.  We sure grabbed some goodies.

We shopped girlie stuff this time.  No kids things.  We did makeup...MAX of course.  We did handbags..Juicy Couture of course...and what beautiful bags we snagged...but the best times were the ones we spent at their home just relaxing, chatting and playing with the kids.  We even made a BBQ...I love BBQ and living in a condo I never make it.  So I indulged more than I should have but...loved every morsel....

My newest buddy is Rima's doggie Dexter...he is a sweetheart and if I could pack him away in my suitcase I would steal him and never look back...he is cuddly, loving and a total ball of fur.  Love him and want one just like him.  He so reminds me of Brutus in his ways.....Having Dexter around made me not miss Brutus as much.....

Today is my last day here...as they say all good things must come to and end but, the day is new and we have lots planned for it.   On our list is PF Chang's a favorite of both Rima and I......

  • The happiest moments of my life have been the ones which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.
until next time...

Sisters......A sister is a forever friend..

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost....
These are mys sisters....they are my best friends.....
I have four younger sisters. We fought, we patched up. We laughed at jokes that no one can understand. We said some of the meanest things to each other. We defended each other when others won't. We did some of the silliest things together and there's so many stories to be recalled when we are together.

I consider myself lucky.  We are five sisters and I am the eldest.  We all live in different parts of the USA and one lives in Puerto Rico.  This makes it difficult sometimes for all of us to be together at the same time.  Even so, we do manage to see each other at least once a year.  Sometimes if we are lucky we may see each other twice.  Even though we are all so far apart we have maintained a bond that is unbreakable.  We are each others best friends.

Whenever I feel I can't talk to anyone, my sisters are always there to listen.  It does not matter when or what time it is.  I know I can count on them and they know they can do the same with me.  I have been fortunate in that I just saw three of my sisters and their families.... about a month ago.  This was at my grandmother's funeral in Canada.  Due to a glitch with the passport agency Rima, my youngest sister was unable to make it to the funeral.

For that reason and because I want to......I will be going to Texas to visit Rima and family.  I love all my sisters dearly and everytime I have the chance to see one of them I jump at it......Arvid and I are fortunate to be able to travel almost anywhere and anytime we like...it's a matter of just picking up and going.  For my sisters it is a bit more difficult because they have kids and so much more is involved...I admire them for all they do and how well they manage with so much going on...
I am very excited about going to Texas.  We have such a good time there always.  This time I will be going alone.  Unfortunately, Arvid has too much to do and can't make it.   Another time it will be.....

Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there.....I have 4 best friends....
Naleena, Nirvana, Nirmala and Narima.....

until next time....

Selling Our Home....

"Now is the time..."

As you all may know by now we are in the process of trying to sell our apartment.  We live downtown Fort Lauderdale.  With the market being what it is it has not been easy.  We are having lots of showings.....almost everyday but, no luck.

This process is very tiring.  We are supposed to have a 24 hours notice prior to someone coming but, lately we have been lucky if we've had an hours notice.

Even so Arvid and I do manage to get everything in order and to be ready for customers.  You've got to do what you've got to do if you want results.

It has been extremely stressful for Brutus more than anyone.  He is not your typical cat.  Brutus is just afraid of everything and everyone except for Arvid and I.  He is just so gentle and he just loves curling up around Arvid's chlorine covered feet.  Makes him feel safe. Whenever we have people coming to see the apartment, Brutus knows about it a good 10 minutes or so before they come through the door.  He is just looking at the door ready to bolt.  All of this stress had caused him to lose hair in different areas of his back.  Poor kitty his quiet routines have been altered and if you have a pet especially a cat you know how they love their routines.  Just like Arvid actually.  He is also a man of routines.....  me I like it varied and always hoping for something different....

Today we have showed the apartment 2 times same as yesterday and the day before. It has gotten to a point where we are not even making lunch at home anymore...sad because I really prefer to eat at home than to eat out.  I like cooking. Hopefully all of this showing will soon lead to a sale.....Arvid and I are forever optimistic about it....

We know sooner or later it will sell....in the meantime we are having fun!!!

"Life is a series of near misses. But a lot of what we ascribe to luck is not luck at all. It's seizing the day and accepting responsibility for your future."

until next time..
