Monday February 16th~

When you have to make a choice and 

don’t make it, that in itself is a choice...

 As the new week begins we are looking

 at much warmer days with lots of sunshine 

and clear blue skies. That being said, yesterday 

was a bit on the stormy side with heavy winds 

and tornado like weather in some areas.

On the way to mom and dads yesterday every

 single street downtown was blocked.  What would

 normally take me a half hour took an hour to get

 to them. Police presence was everywhere. I later

 found out that they were dealing with an active 

death investigation. I tried to go feed Legacy 

but I was blocked from even walking to her.

When I was finally able to go to Legacy, I 

organized all her food in a box because the heavy 

wind had scattered everything all over the place.  

That box is full of food because many people

 also leave food for her.  She was not there

 but I left her clean water and dry food.

Yesterday Arvid and I once again went to FMB, 

Fort Myers Beach for lunch  we tried out a new place

  finally managed to convinced Arvid it’s okay to try 

new places 👏We went to Lani Kai Lani Kai FMB

It has an amazing view of white sandy beach it has 

been completely done over since hurricane Ian; the beach 

that is as most of the building.  But the beach is beautiful;

 it is situated on Estero Island which is part of a larger seven

mile stretch of white sand beach.  I really liked it there.

The beach was packed and filled with people

 having a good time and just enjoying life.

Yesterday we also went to the movies again 

and finished seeing what we started on Saturday, 

since we had to leave due to a suspected fire; 

which turned out to be false alarm anyway.

Many things in the work for the upcoming week.

 Arvid’s schedule as always is quite packed. Work, 

soccer you name it he has something going on.

Sunday February 15th~

Don't Take Anything Personally: 

Nothing others do is because of you...

Yesterday I decided we would try a new pizza 

place close to us, called Uncle Rico’s.  I thought it 

was very good. Arvid reluctantly said it was good,

 but not the same as DHOP, downtown house of

 pizza.  He does not like change in any form.

There were several soccer matches going 

on so he was busy. We also had a very good time 

FaceTiming with Michelle and family.  Always,

 always a good time. We are so looking forward to

 seeing them all this summer.  It’s been too long.

After the soccer game we went to the movies.

 Imagine my shock when Arvid left the Liverpool 

game halfway to go to the movies.  And I thought

 I’d never see the day he said, “it’s not that important.” 

 Maybe he’s a changed man? Nah! I don't think so.

Arvid likes all the Jason Statham movies.  So do I.  

Halfway through the movies the fire alarm went off.  

Of course we were told to evacuate the premises.

  We were more annoyed than anything else.

The fire department of course showed up.  

Lights and sirens blasting all the way.  It was

 a bit entertaining at first, but then it wasn't.

We did get a pass to go back at a later date to see 

the movie.  Will see if we do that.  At first Arvid just 

wanted to leave, but I insisted we get our "free" pass.

Today I go visit mom and dad for a little. 

Arvid has quite a few games to watch. Works out

 great for all of us. Sunday is looking good.

Sunday is a gentle day; it eases us into the new

 week with a sense of peace and happiness...

Saturday February 14th~

Arvid, you are my greatest adventure...

 The first time I ever got a Valentine's Day card 

was from my mom.  When we were little and to this

 day, she always gave us cards.  Not only for special

 occasions, but just because she felt like it.  I loved

 every card, and to this day I have most of them.

Arvid and I do not do a something special for this

 day as a rule.  Occasionally we break the rule.  This 

was a couple of years ago.  We even got dressed up.

Yesterday we went downtown.  Our usual Friday 

outing, let's call it our Valentine's Day treat.  We went 

to Ford's Garage.  Always an interesting spot to people

 watch. So much to see. Non stop live entertainment.

Wishing everyone a happy Valentine's Day. 

 Arvid said to me that love is not celebrated on just

 one specific day.  He called it a scam to get people

 to spend money.  Yup, that's the man I love💘

My perfect Valentine is Arvid and Sniff.

Love has nothing to do with what you are

 expecting to get — only with what you are 

expecting to give — which is everything...

Friday February 13th~

Friday sees more smiles than

 any other day of the workweek.  Let

 Friday the 13th be lucky for you...

 Our outings/walks are always pretty.  Though 

we don't see the squirrels we do see many pretty 

flowers along the way.  I always have my phone

 ready to capture these  special moments 💮

We went to mom and dad's Arvid did what he

 had to do then we hung around a bit while my 

dad and Arvid had a couple of cold ones.  Always 

relaxing and a good time at mom and dad's.

 Yesterday being Thursday I did not cook.  We had 

decided to go to Boat House, but once we got there the

 lines to get a seat was never ending.  Of course we 

left and headed to Pinchers.  Closer to home.

Yesterday was a very pretty day with clear blue skies. 

 A little on the windy side, but definitely not cold. 

 Made for an enjoyable and relaxing outing. 

 Good food and always good drinks.

Just some useless information.  There are three 

Friday the 13th in 2026. The last time Friday the 13th 

immediately preceded Valentine's Day was in 2015.

It's going to be a very warm day today.  Hopefully

 a little outing downtown this afternoon  You have to 

enjoy the warm weather as much as you can because you

 never know when it will get cold again. That being said, 

the morning has begun with the fog rolling in once again.  

Not cold, just a foggy start of this Friday the 13th.

Hoping my normal bad luck and

 today’s bad luck cancel each other out 

so I’m the luckiest girl in the world...

Thursday February 12th~

The only thing you can never have too much of

 is memories; so make a lot of them along the way...

I was so excited when I bought my blueberries 

from Trader Joe's.  They looked plump and delicious. 

 Sadly when I had them for breakfast they were very 

sour and most were soft.  This is the end of my 

blueberry journey.  Arvid tried one, and puked. 

On the other hand, my sushi was yummy

It's that time of the day when Sniff stares

 me down.  He patiently waits for his foodies.  

Right now Ai is the coolest thing.  Everyone is 

remaking themselves with it.  I am no exception.  I

 find myself making Ai caricatures of Arvid and I.

Fed Legacy.  She was there but behind the fence. 

Left her clean food and water. Back home it was

 time to get comfy with Sniff, and to watch some TV. 

 Overall a very good day, and definitely

 getting warmer than what we have been

 having.  Back to being Florida soon.

Today we go over to mom and dads. 

My dad has another chore for Arvid and

 Arvid could not be happier. Says it’s a little 

exercise for him.  He’s a special person. 

Together, we have turned ordinary 

moments into extraordinary memories...

Wednesday February 11th~

 We didn't realize we were making memories, 
we just knew we were having fun...

Yesterday I was looking for some papers.  I had to

 go through many boxes with a little of everything accumulated

 through the years.  For a while I forgot what I was looking

 for for a little while I was transported to another place.

I have led an interesting life.  Like many not

 always easy, but definitely never boring.  We all say 

we would never change a thing about our lives, but

 I'm not sure that is true in all cases.  I guess if I 

could change something, then another something

 or someone would not have happened.

I did not find the documents I was

Looking for, but I relived moments that made me

 who I am. I smiled and I shed a few tears, but 

the past is not something I dwell on often.  

I have many treasured memories of my life in

 California.  Here are five reasons.  My Reba, MacGyver,

 Buddy, Lil' Mister and Tiger. My five kitties that  

will never forget. When Paul, my first husband died 

they flew with me all the way to New Jersey and

 within a year to Florida.  My first fur  babies.

To all a very good day.  Going down memory 

lane was good, but I no longer live there.

Every time I open the drawer, it's a trip down 

Memory Lane, which, if you don't turn off at the

 right exit, merges straight into the Masochistic 

Nostalgia Highway, and I'm not into that.

Sometimes a short walk down memory lane is 

all it takes to appreciate where you are today.

Tuesday February 10th~

  Knowing is not enough; we must apply. 
Willing is not enough; we must do...

We live in Florida so you know what that means.

  We can and will sue you for just about everything. 

 Seriously, here suing someone is second nature😬

Yesterday was an extremely good day. 

We received some very good news and after 

that the day got busy. Really busy good.

I did a Trader Joe’s run. Arvid keeps

 eating bread like no one I know, but I always

 enjoy going too Trader Joe’s. Always something 

extra I pick up. Valentine's Day in full swing.

Knee still not "behaving" the most walk I do is

 to Legacy.  Her "home" is not that far from ours

 so just walking back and fort to her aggravates 

the knee, but I do it because she's waiting.

Another fairly busy day here.  We are supposed to be

 retired, but somehow Arvid has been busier than ever. 

Not complaining because even I am bored when not 

doing anything, but he's so busy that it's almost 

impossible to get his attention during the day.

  Last night he told me me cutest thing.  As we 

were watching American Idol, I said that Carrie 

Underwood had the prettiest brown eyes.  He looked 

at me and said, "hers are murky compared to yours."  

Who can stay angry at someone who says things 

like this, and at such random/unexpected  times.

A very good day to all.  Florida is warming up nicely.

It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine...

Monday February 9th~

 When you focus on problems, you 

get more problems; when you focus on 

possibilities, you get more opportunities...

 

The new week feels like we are once again 

in Florida.  The warmth is coming back.  So strange 

to have so many cold days.  We definitely experienced 

winter here in the Sunshine State.  So not normal.

The cold spell did not favor the iguanas.  With

 so many euthanized/killed there is excess iguana 

meat for everyone who want to try.  Not for me.

Yesterday we had a very nice outing with 

my parents. We drove them to see some new 

places and then we went to dinner at one of our 

favorite places on the water in Cape Coral.

Mom and dad enjoyed the tour.  Again Arvid 

went out of his way to make it a good day for them.

  We enjoy taking them around whenever possible.  This

 way they get to see and do something different.

The new week begins.  It goes without 

saying Arvid is BUSY. That man knows how

 to be busy.  I do admire that quality in him.

We tuned in to watch the Super Bowl.  Mainly

 starting from halftime.  Not sure what I expected.  I speak

 Spanish fluently, yet I did not understand much of what

 Bad Bunny "sang"  Definitely not what we expected,

 but definitely a great representation of Puerto Rico

 and the Latin culture.  There was even a shout

 out to Guyana, the country I was born in.

It's Monday.  I looking forward to a great

 week, a clear mind and calm spirit...
