Rainy Days....

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

Today the skies opened up and it poured and poured.  I don't mind the rain in fact I like it what I don't like is lightining.  Gladly there was none of that.  Arvid hates the rain.   Even with all of this drenching we managed to accomplish many things today...so we felt good.  Of course after that, we decided to just stay cozied up indoors...not so bad after all....

Got a lot accomplished also while at home.  Managed to take care of some real estate customers overseas and do some paperwork which as you know never ends.  All in all not a bad day.  Now the weather is clearing up and I can see the rainbow.....

Well hope your day was good also.  Remember it is what we make of it that matters.......keep smiling and the world smiles back at you.....always

Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.

Music Is What Feelings Sound Like....

It seems like everyday something is happening here in Fort Lauderdale.  This weekend we have our yearly Riverwalk Blues Festival.  We do appreciate music and tend to go to as many venues as possible no matter where in the world we are.   Arvid loves to dress up in his "Blues" gear.

This particular festival is just steps away from us so we just walk enjoy and can come back anytime we like.  It is a good break after a long days of work.  We were there the last two nights and will be there today again. It's fun and we get to see quite a lot of artists.  Even Brutus is a Blues fan...just look at him all geared up with Arvid's Blues hat/cap.  We have a jukebox and we listen to music in or "music" room every Friday....Brutus is a constant presence there also.  Seems like music also relaxes him...at least Arvid firmly believes so....Arvd thinks Brutus is some kind of a wonder....

This year it is a bit cold (very COLD!!)  so we will be gearing up to full winter gear....for us here in Florida anything below 70F is winter....even so Arvid and I are always having a good time with just about anything we do. 

When we are in Eleuthera we also go out and listen to music.  There we have island music.  We love it also.....Would have been nice to be there right ow because it is so much warmer there.....

Homeward Bound....

A good home must be made, not bought.

Our stay in Eleuthera has come to an end...at least for this trip.  We have had a very good time (as usual) but, now it's time to go back home.  We love it here in Eleuthera but we also love our home back in Fort Lauderdale so we are also looking forward to that.   Have missed our pool and hot tub (pictured above).

Back home in Florida we go to the pool/hot tub at least 2 times a week.  Here in Eleuthera we go to the beach...right on our doorstep everyday.  Either way we love it and have a great time.

At home in Florida we live at a different pace....much more hectic and more aggressive, compared to the laid back lifestyle we have here in Eleuthera.

Right now I am ready for that change.  Makes me feel alive and vibrant.  I love a good challenge and just dealing with everyday life is a challenge.  Already our thoughts are ready for all the things we have to do and take care of once we get home.

Brutus is so relaxed here but, he also has his favorite spots at home.  Being a city cat he loves to look out of the floor to ceiling windows and just observe......right now Brutus is so into his island lifestyle I am not sure he is ready to go back home.  Even Arvid said he was sad because he did not wish to go back home as yet either.  Truth be told we need to get home.  We have our business to take care of. 

We come to Eleuthera once a month and this is the perfect blend for us.  We work very hard when in Florida and just when we think we can't take it any more it's time to come back to Eleuthera.

We have a beautiful home with all the comfort and amenities we can wish for....( check the link on my page titled Our Apartment) right now I am looking forward to a very looooooooooong, hot shower.  In Eleuthera we have to be a little more careful with our water supply because we have a water tank and do not want to waste a single drop.  At home I am a little less cautious.

On our last evening here in Eleuthera we went out to celebrate again.  This time it was for another great trip we've had here.  We went to Cocodimama one very beautiful Resort.  Just check the link.

For now it's goodbye Eleuthera until our next time here.

As usual we have had a wonderful time here in our island.  It is sad to leave but, we will be back.  For now we have to go back home and take care of business........

Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think.

 Today has been a very physical day in the sense that we have done a lot of work on the outside.  We have pressured cleaned the outside ceilings, pulled weeds and cleared up a few of our lots.  Very tiring but overall satisfying and a great workout.  Needless to say we are all tanned and glowing with color. 

After all of this work we needed a little pampering...I was in a craving mood for ice-cream....Haagen Daz was calling me.  Not a problem.  To Sky Beach we went.  Was a good time as any to celebrate for a job well done.  Arvid and I have a tendency to celebrate just because...does not have to be a special  occasion we just make the occasion special.

After that we just went for a drive and enjoyed the sunset......totally relaxing.....

Whatever you desire Eleuthera has it all….spectacular beaches, great surf, tranquil coves, lush green forests, quaint historical settlements, and a relaxed carefree atmosphere.

You can do it all or do absolutely nothing.

Use caution when visiting this idyllic island retreat: You might never be able to wear a (business) suit again.

Enjoy your freedom!!!


Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family.....

Finally Here....ELEUTHERA!!

The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak

We are in Eleuthera and for that we could not be happier just look at us and I believe you will all understand what I mean when I say this is truly our haven from everything....

Our day began like most of our days ....one phone call after another.  It got to the point where Arvid was just ready to rip the phones off and throw them all away...here in Eleuthera we notice the difference as soon as we step into our Lil Red.....it's QUIET!!! 

The phones have not rung once...the only time we are on the phone is when and if we decide to make a call...right now I am enjoying it all...

This is Brutus' 4th trip to the island and I will say he does really good in the plane.  We do give him some calming drops just to relax him....here he is in his little carrier being soooo...good.

When we arrived at the airport in Fort Lauderdale no one noticed Brutus...he went through without being checked.  OK with us.  Once in the plane he was very scared.  Arvid had him on his lap the entire trip just talking to him softly while I tried to give him water with a little syringe....he was so good.....never cried just shook a bit.

We got to Eleuthera....guess what???  customs did not even see the little dude....we walked right out with him.  Of course we have all the appropriate paperwork but if they did not ask I did not give.....

Brutus is now settled in & relaxing in his condo....we have even padded the door in his bedroom so that when he scratches at night he does not hurt his paws.....the things we do for this kitty...

Tomorrow promises be another interesting day.  When in the island you can never really tell what will happen...people here are laid back and take it very easy.....When we are here we switch to Island Mode and love every minute of it.....sometimes it is just the simple things in life that makes us the happiest.....

Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough
