Sunday September 22nd~

Autumn holds a wonder all its own...

 Today is officially the start of fall.  For so many fall
 is their favorite season.  It's when you feel that crisp 
coolness in the air and then there is that beauty in nature 
where everything just bursts into a medley of colors.  


I loved that in Missouri.  Here in Florida, at least where
 we are you do not see that, and I miss it.  There is no
 coolness as of yet in the air, but the temperature did drop a
 few degrees the other day.  Instead of 93F (34C), we had
 89F (32).  We take that as a sign of cooler air coming.


Sunday already.  I still have not chosen a place for us 
to go to as yet.  Hoping that Arvid will also have a few
 suggestions.  It is was up to me, I'd go to Doc Ford's on 
Fort Myers Beach.  Great food yummy Mojitos 🍹


I just got my laugh for the morning.  I was telling 
Arvid that soon we will be walking again once it starts 
to cool down.  I then said, "just incase I can't go with 
you, I'll go to the Spa."  He gave me such a "mean" 
look that I could not stop laughing.  Now this is my
 "torture" to him.  Just mention the word Spa😂


To all a very good day, and may the start of fall 
be as wonderful as we all hope and expect it to be.  
Time to enjoy and feel some cool crisp air again.

Saturday September 21st~

Eagles come in all shapes and sizes, but you 
will recognize them chiefly by their attitudes...

 I wake up every morning very happy and 
excited to "stalk"  Southwest Florida's eagle family, 
that being M15 and F23.  They are always entertaining 
and always up to some mischief.  Love them🦅


Yesterday I did a few chores I had. Arvid stayed 
busy. He knows how to do busy better than anyone
 I know.  I still have not figured out his method 😂
BTW, that's or building in the background.


We had a light lunch at home because the 
highlight for the day was Music Walk, and of course
 we could not not have a slice of pizza. Arvid seems 
to have missed it very much. Strange man because
 he said he had more than enough in Norway 🫣


Music Walk would not be the same without "Jesus" 
We had a stopover at Hideaway and then we walked 
around to a few other places.  I medicated myself so that 
I would be able to do the walk. Today I pay for it.


On our way back home I told Arvid that the spa next 
to us has reopened, and business seems to be picking up. 
 It was totally damaged by hurricane Ian.   He said to me, “ don’t 
ever talk to me about spa. I hate that word.”  Well who knows 
what got into him.  He said he does not want to ever hear 
the word spa again.  It was so out of character for him.  I 
guess I won’t be able to convince him to go with me 🥹. 


To all a good day.  For Arvid there is lots of soccer today.

Friday September 20th~

 As you wait for better days, don't forget to
 enjoy today, in case they've already started...

The highlight of yesterday was that we "discovered" 
a new place.  It's called Rum Bucket and it's about a 20 
minute drive inland from us.  Never heard of it before.


Arvid said that we needed to check it out because he thinks 
my mom and dad would like it. Arvid was looking forward to 
the chicken wings, but sadly they were all sold out. Even so, the 
food was still very good.  I mostly always have the Cesar salad.


My drink of choice was something called breezy beach. 
 It was delicious.  Worth going back just to have another one.


A late start today but all is good.  It's Friday.  It's 
Music Walk and hopefully I will be able to do the walk.


Cheers to the weekend.🍸Already feeling the weekend vibes.

Thursday September 19~

To push the boundaries, you 
need to know where the edges are...

 Not much happened yesterday.  Arvid did some cleaning 
and I mostly rested my knee.  I didn't stop me from going to 
Publix (our local grocery store), cooking, cleaning and taking 
care of all Sniff's needs.  But I did think it would be too much
 to run around and put unnecessary stress on my knee.

When I went to Publix the skies were bright and clear.  
When I got out it was black and a storm was brewing.


Lately this has been "popping" up all over my news feed.  It's called:
The Shorely.  The heart of Marina Village, serves as a central hub
 of luxury and entertainment. This 500 person ferry turned lounge
 and entertainment venue caters to the many whims of its guests. 

Carefully curated entertainment, energizing cocktails,
 and bottle service are the guiding forces at work here. 
Whether you are dancing, lounging, or socializing, The Shorely 
@ Marina Village provides a truly unforgettable setting.  You 
can read more about it on their website.  Looks pretty cool.



I have settled back into a routine.  It's good, but I sure 
miss August and all the things I did.  Currently with my 
torn meniscus, even if I were having alone time, I would 
not be able to do much.  Walking is not best right now.

 Welcome back M15 and F23.  It's been too long.


A good day to all.  Thursday so I do not cook today.  Yay!

Happiness is no cooking, no cleaning, no laundry...

Wednesday, September 18th~

 Life is going to give you just what you put 
in it. Put your whole heart in everything 
you do, and pray, then you can wait...


Yesterday I had a chore to do early in the morning. 
I finally got the first of four injections for my knee.
 So excited and hopeful that I will be able to finally
walk again.  I sure miss my morning walks.


When I was done I drove by a little Cuban restaurant,
 and decide to stop in and have breakfast. Nothing very
 fancy. Just a cafe con leche and tostadas.  It was delicious, 
and I sure look forward to going there whenever my 
“chores” take me out early in the mornings.


Arvid does not like breakfast out, does become a little 
boring once in a while.  As a rule I like to have it at home as 
well, but occasionally it is okay to go out.  Looking forward to
 going back another time I have an early doctors appointment.


Didn’t do much yesterday. I did ice my knee a
 lot and elevated it. The doctor recommended lots of 
rest for 24 hours after the injection, and rest I did.

Today is different. Still hurts but it’s been 24 hours 
so now I have some work we need to do. It requires 
standing and some walking.  But as I told the doctor, I 
can’t just ice and elevate all day long. Not happening.


Arvid is into cleaning and that gets scary. He finds 
“things” he claims we don’t need and begins what I call 
his dumping stage, and if an item is in his way it
 gets kicked around a bit 🐒.  Sniff and I just 
look at him and again roll our eyes 😂


It’s already halfway through the week. Time is sure 
flying by. Glad because this means I’m one day closer to
 being pain free 🙏. A good day to all and a reminder to
 not take life for granted. Enjoy each day and make it count.

Hmmm...Something toThink About ~

The best years of your life are the ones in which you
 decide your problems are your own. You do not blame 
them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. 
You realize that you control your own destiny..

How many times have you heard so and so 
person blaming everyone but themselves for 
the "raw" deal life has dished out to them. 


 Like you, this is something I see often. Television 
plays a big part in people feeling sorry for themselves,
people refusing to accept responsibilities for their
 lives, and for their mistakes. Kinda sad to see.



We may not all be born under the same circumstances, 
but that does not change the fact that we are all responsible
 for our actions.  I think we are all capable to choose
 right from wrong, but if we do is something else.

So many times I hear, "society has damaged 
him/her"  "she/he is just like her father/mother"

When I hear this it really makes me angry.
  For instance I sometimes hear people saying, 
"poor kid, his/her dad/mom was a terrible person" 

Does this mean that it gives that child a reason to
 be the same?  No, as far as I am concerned that
 person had a choice and they chose to be the
 bad, mean, horrible persons they are.


Same with child abusers, wife beaters.  Just 
because you were abused, does that give you the 
right to do the same to others?  Maybe I am too harsh.  
Maybe I lack sympathy/empathy in some cases.  Not sure,
 but I definitely believe we each have the choice to be as
we want.  What choice we make is entirely up to us.


There are two primary choices in life:
 to accept conditions as they exist, or accept 
the responsibility for changing them.


In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. 
The process never ends until we die. And the choices 
we make are ultimately our own responsibility.  
A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure
until he begins to blame somebody else...

Monday September 16th~

 My mission in life is not merely to survive, but
 to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some
 compassion, some humor, and some style...

As the new week begins, Arvid is very happy 
because we will be busy, and in between he will be 
watching soccer.  This is the look of a happy man.


Sniff in the meantime does not know if he's happy 
about this or not.  He does know that whatever his dada
 does he will most likely do.  In between naps yesterday, this 
was Sniff.  Each time Arvid cheered, Sniff woke up.


Yesterday was warm, but it was still perfect to be seated 
outdoors.  We had the breeze coming our way all the time. 
 Made for a very enjoyable time.  Food was good as were
 the drinks.  Being next to us, we walked.  Even better.


A few things to take care of today, also in this mix I am hoping 
to get a call from my orthopedic surgeon's office.  Not to complain, 
but I have never had as much pain as I am having right now. 
 I also miss my morning walks and views of the sunrise.
I can still seethe sunrise  from the bedroom window.


Sniff plans to take it easy.  He's not a morning 
person either so a little extra nap always improves his 
disposition.  Just like Arvid😂  They love their sleep.


No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, 
life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow...

Sunday September 15th~

Do the best you can until you know better. 
Then when you know better, do better...

 After talking about it a lot, Arvid finally gave in and 
cleaned  the balcony.  Said he could not take it anymore, 
and if he and Sniff were to go out they need it clean. 
 So he cleaned, and what a huge difference it made.


What a difference a day makes.  We can now actually see out again😂


Sunday again.  Arvid and I will be going out for
 our outing and if the weather holds, we will probably
 be able to sit outdoors again.  So far we have been 
lucky.  Summer in Florida, you never know how the
 weather will change one minute from another.


To all a beautiful day.  Today I slept in, well I didn't get 
up before Arvid nor Sniff.  Fells good and I feel rested.


I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through
 life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you 
need to be able to throw some things back...

Saturday September 14th~

Always go with your passions. 
Never ask yourself if it’s realistic or not...

 Arvid is a happy man today.  Yesterday he told 
me that there is a lot of soccer on TV this weekend. 
 He's going to be very busy with that remote today. Arvid
 always says that I am the only one he can't "control."


Sniff and I as usual woke up early.  Sniff ate his foodies
ran around a bit then off to another nap he went.  He's on the 
bed with Arvid.  They keep each other warm every morning.


I'm still waiting to hear back from my orthopedic surgeon.  My 
knee really hurts.  Yesterday we walked downtown for our usual
 Friday outing.  When we got home I was feeing it.  According
 to my doctor, I am not injuring my knee any more by walking.
  I'm just going to be really sore and really hurt.  No lies there.


It was good going back to town with Arvid.  We had a good
 time and a few interesting "sightings."  Never a dull moment.


It was a beautiful day.  We saw the sunset which is always special.  
Today is most likely going to be a more relaxing day.  Not as much 
running around as the last few days.  Thank goodness for soccer.


I may not have gone where I intended to go, 
but I think I have ended up where I needed to be...

Friday The 13th~

 I've seen enough horror movies to know that
 any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly...


Today my sister and our nephew Sachin both have birthdays.  
Wishing them both the best day and many, many more to 
come.  Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you
 @ Nirvana.  When we lived in Puerto Rico we did enjoy a
 celebration with you.  To this day we still talk about it.
 

Friday the 13th  is considered an unlucky day in 
Western superstition. A month has a Friday the 13th
 if and only if it begins on a Sunday.  There are 
91 days, 1 hour, 2  minutes and 26 seconds until
 the next Friday the 13th (December 2024).


 Our Sniff knows when and how  to just chill.  Right
 now he's been fed and he's back to a little catchup
 nap with his dada.  They both love their sleep.


As for us, we had another very busy day. 
 We were on the go most of the day, but we did
 find some time to go and have a nice lunch.


We checked out The Boat House.  We have been 
to the one in Cape Coral, but first time going to t
he one in Fort Myers.  We likes this one better.


Typical Florida style tiki bar restaurant.  Casual relaxed
 environment.  Exactly what we like.  It was a warm day,
 but with the breeze just perfect for outdoor seating.


We enjoyed a very relaxing outing and a busy day.
  A Happy Friday the 13th to all .  The scariest thing I 
will do on Friday the 13th is check my bank account.


Be happy.  Not because everything is good, but 
because you can see the good side of everything...
