Florida forecast: hot with
a chance of…more hot...
Yesterday we met mom and dad at Pinchers.
Pinchers is just a five minute walk from us. We
introduced them to it when they first started coming
to Fort Myers, and my dad took a huge liking to it.
The restaurant is right on the water so we have a
good view of boats passing by. Pinchers
Yesterday was too hot to sit out, but we still
had a good view from where we were seated.
Arvid also really likes the food there, well
he will only eat two items from the menu.
Peel and eat shrimp and garlic bread.
The meal yesterday was very good. I had the
same as Arvid. Mom had the baby back ribs and
dad always has the grouper sandwich no matter where
he goes. He now knows the taste of grouper sandwiches
in just about most restaurants in Fort Myers. Pincers
is supposedly one of the best for it. Says my dad.
Pinchers' happy hour goes on all day long everyday.
Mom and I like the red sangria. Dad and Arvid
choose Modelo. Everyone was very happy.
We had a good time as always dad, mom and
Arvid exchanged stories of when they were younger.
My dad has many funny stories from living in Guyana,
and they just happen to be real stories. We laughed
a lot. We always have a good time with them.
After Pinchers, we hopped a ride with mom and
dad and went downtown. It was way too hot to
walk so we figured at least one way we did not
have to tackle the heat. Yes, it's that HOT!
We ended up at Ford's Garage. A favorite
of ours. We sat outside ready to enjoy the
people passing by and all the activity that
was going on. It was after all Art Walk.
Though we sat at a shaded table, the heat was just
unbearable, even for Arvid. We ended up moving
indoors, but by then we were so exhausted from
the heat that it ceased to being a fun evening.
That combined with all the "noise" it was too
much. I don't understand why people have to speak
so loudly. I mean we're not deaf. Both Arvid and
I find this a very unattractive quality. It wears
us out and Arvid gets really mad about it.
To all a very good day. It is HOT
and I have already had a busy morning.
It's hot enough to scald a lizard.
It’s not a dry heat; that kind of heat
is better. This is a wet heat...
