Friday June 18th ~ MacGyver Is Gone ~

I want to take all our best moments, put
them in a jar, and take them out like cookies
and savor each one of them forever....

Did my walk.  Met up with the little ones.  They are fed and
happy for now.  Will be seeing them again this afternoon for their
second feeding.  Time to stock up on more kitty foodies today.

Nothing planned as of right now for the weekend,
but that can change within seconds.  The days are going
by fast, but at the same time not fast enough
to get me back home.  As yet.

Like I have said it will be bittersweet the day we go back home.
I am already stressing about what will become of the kitties.
Of my Marbles, MacGyver, ShyBoy, PooPoo, Mama, Baby,
CryBaby, Milo, Spotify, WhitePaws, Rascal, Taina (she's
Crybabys baby) and the others I have not named as of yet.

Life is good.  Things are mostly back to normal in
Puerto Rico.  Even so, many of the tourist attractions are
still closed, or requiring special passes to get to.

Yesterday I picked up MacGyver from the vet
around 11:20 AM  Took him to the girl who watches
them and around 11:45 I got a call.  MacGyver had
escaped from his cage. I know he's not "my" cat.
Tell that to my heart because right now it's hurting

The moments we have behind us, you won't be able to see again.
We're only responsible for what we live in right now...

Thursday June 17 ~

There may be people who have more talent
than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to
work harder than you do – and I believe that...

Today I pick up MacGyver from the vet.  He has already spent
two nights there, and now to the next location so that he can
heal before I release him.  Marbles is missing him as am I.

Can't wait for him to be back home where he belongs, and
where he is happy.  They both still need good homes, so if you
know of anyone willing to take them please message me. Airfare
back East (USA) may be provided if they get a good home.

Yesterday we went to Old san Juan and met up with
my cousins and their families.  Also with my sister
and Kimsy.  Ten of us all together.  Was loud.

My cousins live in Arizona, but are New Yorkers 100%.
They have also all lived at some point in Puerto Rico.
The twins, Ray, pictured here with his two daughters
and his brother Ryan (not here) were born in PR.

At the age of 6 they moved to New York, and a few
years ago made the move to Arizona.  Today Arizona
will be experiencing a high of 117F (47C)  They
are very happy to not be there right now.

Sunny morning right now.  We did have bad weather
earlier, but right now Sniff is enjoying the sunshine
from his favorite morning spot.  Sniff is a happy boy
and I love him so much.  He's my happy place.

Good morning everyone.  Week is soon over.  Boy time is sure flying by.

Nothing is permanently perfect. But there are
perfect moments and the will to choose what
will bring about more perfect moments...

Wednesday June 16th ~

The best portion of a good man’s life is his little
nameless, unencumbered acts of kindness and of love...

Every so often Facebook brings up a memory form a
past event or place in our lives.  Recently it has been many
memories of Branson.  I do miss it and I think fondly
of everyone still there that we consider friends.

Many places we loved, and as Arvid keeps reminding me,
"the food was very good."  We found the best frozen custard
there.  I could, really welcome some of that right now.

Wednesday begins with lots of wind.  It has already
rained heavily this morning, but thankfully when I was
ready to go feed the kitties/walk there was no rain.

I have been restless in Puerto Rico for a long time now.
Arvid is finally there.  This is good.  Because when he
is restless then I am sure we will soon need a change.
Home is looking closer every day.  I hope.

Hello new day.  Surprise us 😍.

In order to write about life first you must live it...

Tuesday June 15th ~

Never let the fear of striking out
keep you from playing the game...

I am mentally and emotionally drained.  The homeless
cat-dog situation in the island is tearing me apart.  It's not like
I can ignore it either.  I step out to go somewhere, there are cats.
Our complex has enough to keep me busy day and night.

The above is MacGyver.  Homeless, wild yet not feral.
He and Marbles are loving and they really need a home to
call their own.  Sharon, who paid for part of his surgery today
has offered to fly them over to the US.  East Coast.

This morning after 3 tries I finally was able to get MacGyver
into the carrier, and yes I bought my own to put them in.
He fought to get out so hard that he injured his nose.
The blanket I took was full of his blood 😿

It was easy to grab him because he's so friendly.
He comes to you, but getting him in the carrier
was another story.  He fought like crazy not
to go in.  Unlike Marbles who just went in.

MacGyver has been spayed.  He's doing good and will be
boarded at the vet's for 2 days.  After that I take him to a friends
home and he will stay there for 3 nights.  By then he should be
strong enough to be released.  He'll be back with his Marbles.

Tuesday has been hectic.  I am exhausted.  Have
been trying to catch another kitty.  She's pregnant,
it's not happening.  Not as friendly as M&M 😬

Hope your day has been a good one so far.

how close they were to success when they gave up...

New Week ~

The challenge of every Monday is to maintain the
same vitality in each and every day of the week...

Happy Monday! Start your work week on a positive note.
Look forward to Mondays with enthusiasm and motivation!

The start of a week should be a good motivator to live
each day to the fullest. Start Mondays with the thought
that something great is going to happen today!

Wishing everyone a great productive week ahead.

Every day is different, and some days are better than others,
but no matter how challenging the day, I get up and live it...

Sunday Vibes ~

My life motto is 'Do my best, so that
I can't blame myself for anything...

On June 11th Arvid's mom turned 93 years old.  She
takes aging gracefully to another level. Arvid has not seen
his mother Molly, since 2019.  2021 is the year for this.

Our Sunday is quiet and for a change the sun is
shining, and looks like it will be most of the day. Always
happy happy for that.  Sniff taking it easy as always.

Early this morning I picked up Marbles and brought her
home.  She's happy, and best of all she can't have babies. She's
reunited with her favorite best friend.  Her brother MacGyver.

Wishing everyone a great day.  Relax and take time for yourself.

My life has been a roller coaster ride,
but somehow I've always been able to land
on my feet and still play the guitar...

Friday Vibes ~

You cannot do a kindness too soon because
you never know how soon it will be too late...

MacGyver is missing his Marbles.  He is now
running around on his won.  Still trying to check
out what everyone is eating even though he has
the same.  I really love this little dude.

Baby is pregnant.  Baby is just a baby herself.

This situation has me depressed.
Still trying to see what I can do.

On the home front, Sniff is back to not eating.
I will try to not stress about it.  He has food 24/7 so
if he's hungry all he has to do is go and eat.  Not
so very lucky the little ones living in the wild.

Friday.  So far we have not seen the rain, but
judging from the skies we will soon 😂 Island
living.  It is what it is.  Go with the flow.

I’ve had/have a remarkable life. I seem to be in
such good places at the right time. You know,
if you were to ask me to sum my life
up in one word, gratitude...

Thursday June 10th~ Marbles' Day

I love the smell of possibility in the morning...

Super excited.  Today I pick up Marbles from the vet.
She won't be staying with me, but she will be staying
at another girls' home for a few more days until healed,
and can be released back into her familiar surroundings.
I have grown very attached to her and MacGyver.

If I were living alone, i would keep both of them.  Sniff
would have someone to play with and they would all have a
good life together.  But with Arvid it is NOT even a maybe 😢

After 15 months, Arvid and I went to the movies last nice.
I love going to the movies, and it didn't disappoint.

The movie theater was very empty.  We were
just five people seeing this movie.  Covid is still
hanging around.  people are still cautious.

Thursday, so far the sun is out.  Yesterday it rained
all afternoon/evening  long.  For us it was OK because
we did not walk.  Instead we enjoyed going to the movies.
There is always something good in every situation.

Sometimes, a break from your
routine is the very thing you need...

Wednesday June 9th ~

 The secret of your future
is hidden in your daily routines...

Sniff has his routines, another reason I love him so
much.  He keeps me consistent, and I know what he needs,
and when he needs it.  He loves to bask in the sun early in the
mornings before Arvid gets out of bed.  As soon as he hears
movement in the bedroom his basking in the sun is done.

He loves his dada, even though I am the one who
tends to all his needs.  He does love me as well 😻
Seaweed still everywhere around us.  Smelly!

Yesterday we were without water for some hours.
Arvid wanted us to go into San Juan, but I was
really not in the mood.  I was preoccupied with
Marbles and how she was doing after surgery.

Everything went well.  She stayed overnight and
I will also be keeping her overnight at the vets today.

Just to be safe.  All our kitties came home the same
day, but Marbles will be released in the wild again, so
better to be safe than sorry.  I missed her this morning.

Myself and another lady who live in our complex
are working together to spay and neuter Marbles
and MacGyver.  These two are the friendliest and the
only ones I can actually touch right now.

Eventually I will consider spaying and neutering
a few others on my own.  We have to start somewhere.
 Today I saw 2 new babies 💔😢 It's a vicious cycle.

A brand new day begins.  Arvid says he's not bored
as yet in Puerto Rico.  says he's not ready to leave nor
does he miss Fort Lauderdale as yet.  Sniff and I do.

I miss my home, at the same time I hate the thought
of leaving the kitties.  I am so torn.  If it were not for
the kitties I would push to go back home ASAP.

The above was at home in Fort Lauderdale.
We have a good life.  Won't complain, but I do
miss that feeling of home where we belong.

I long, as every human being,
to be at home wherever I find myself...

Marbles ~ Spayed June 8th 2021

I know everything happens for a reason, but
sometimes I wish I knew what that reason was...

Marbles is the first and hopefully not the last.
Today she will be spayed, tattoed, and ear tipping.

Ear-tipping involves surgically removing a small portion
of one of a cat's ears while the cat is under anesthesia for spay
or neuter surgery. It is the universally accepted way to signify
that a community cat has been spayed or neutered, which
means no new kittens will be born, and that's a good thing.

Marbles and MacGyver are the best of friends.
They are probably brother and sister.  When I caught
Marbles, MacGyver would not leave her side.  he wanted
to be with her.  She way crying.  Not used to being in a cage,
but it is the best in the long run for her. They are always
together. I saw him looking for her as we drove to the vet.

I'm a nervous wreck.  Hope all goes well for Marbles.
I have paid for her to be boarded and cared for for
2 days at the vets office.  This way if she should
develop any side effects help is close by.

I left her at the vet, and as I walked to the car,
I could not help but cry and make sure I told the
girls to please take good care of her.

Arvid said my downfall would be that
I care too much.  I'm not sure I can change,
nor want to.  Would be much easier, but...

Now to wait for the call telling me that everything
went well.  same call I waited for when Brutus had his
amputation.  It did not go as I expected.  That call said,
"Brutus is crashing."  My world collapsed that day.
Today will definitely be better news🙏

I've learned over and over again that
life happens on its own terms, not mine...
