Sunday February 9th~

Like it or not, we live in interesting times...

 I'm still smiling when I think of our outing in the early

 morning of Saturday.  Mostly because of the guy we met and

 the way Arvid "shut him up" as he puts it.  In the meantime 

we did enjoy drinks by moonlight.  Was an interesting time.

Super Bowl 2025: Kansas City Chiefs v. Philadelphia Eagles 

The Kansas City Chiefs meet the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday

 for a date with history. The chiefs are trying to become the 

first NFL team ever to win three Super Bowls in a row.

My Sniff loves his fresh laundry.  Cats are attracted 

to fresh laundry for a number of reasons, including

 warmth, comfort, and the scent of their human. 

Yesterday was a quiet day here at home.  We watched 

a movie in the evening, had some snacks and to spice it up 

a bit, we had a Pepsi each.  It was a good time for sure.  

To all a good day.  May your favorite Super Bowl

 team make you proud today.  Let's go Chiefs🏈 By the way, 

I'm not a football fan, but we're taking Missouri here🏈

Probably the last sound heard before the Universe 

folded up like a paper hat would be someone

 saying, "What happens if I do this?"

Saturday February 8th~

 Be humble and never think you

 are better than anyone else...

Most of yesterday we spent at home, well Arvid did.
  I was out and about in the morning taking care of 

a few chores and doing something just for me.

Just a cup of coffee and some alone time does me wonders.  

I just sat and remembered ohh so many things.  Made me 

smile and at time made me a little sad.  Life happens.

Arvid had another busy day, but then 

Arvid is the master of busy😂  I try not to ask, 

just in case he tries to involve me in his "busy."

Yesterday evening we detoured from our downtown 

outing.  Instead we went to Punta Gorda to listen to music.  

Just a half hours drive from us.  Well worth the drive.

It was a good evening that prolonged a little more 

once we got home.  We gave in and went downtown.

All's good at home.  Just a little later start for the 3 of us.

Don't let the sun go down without 

basking in the happiness it brings...

Friday February 7th~

Success isn't always about greatness. It's

 about consistency. Consistent hard work 

leads to success. Greatness will come...

 It's was a pretty busy Thursday.  Mostly for Arvid.

  I swear if he's not doing something he gets really bored. 

 Arvid works harder than anyone I know.  And he's much

stronger than anyone I know.  Just ask my parents 😀

There is just beautiful weather all around us.  Arvid and 

I are making sure we enjoy it all.  January was way too 

cold, but February and March predicted to be almost

 if not perfect winter weather.  Definitely a paradise.

Arvid and I had our downtown outing.  The sky 

was blue and though it was warm, there was also a

 coolness in the air once you stepped into the shade.

Arvid and I have "used" our downtown more than we have

 ever made use of any other place we have lived in.  When 

we lived by Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, we rarely went 

for walks on Las Olas.  We did walk though by the New River. 

 Fort Myers downtown is small.  Very small, maybe that's why

 we like it so much.  It has everything we need and like.

Friday.  The weekend is already upon us. 

  Looking forward to whatever the day holds. No 

matter what it is we always have a good time.

The weekend is a small slice 

of heaven to recharge your batteries...

Thursday February 6th~

 Make every effort to change things you do not like. 

If you cannot make a change, change the way you have 

been thinking. You might find a new solution..

Always a good time when we can go for walks.  

Even better when we catch a beautiful sunset.  

That was the case yesterday.  Mesmerizing.

It's always "work" to get Arvid to take a picture.  He's 

always grumbling how he does not understand why I do

always want pictures.  Most times I get him to agree.  Quite 

often he just walks away.  Yesterday was a "good" day.

Sniff has so many spots.  By mid afternoon he 

loves to be on his condo basking in the sunlight.  

 Whenever I get to feed the lil" ones, that for me is a good day.

A good day to all, and a reminder that 

common sense is not so common in many.

I did then what I knew how to do. 

Now that I know better, I do better...

Wednesday February 5th~

 We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change 
anything if we cannot change our thinking...

Today begins my doctors/lab appointments for the year.

  Breast cancer has a five year window, with regular checkups

at least two times a year for now, those are breast imaging

 scans and follow ups.  Not complaining.  Could be worse.

Thyroid cancer requires regular lab follow ups.

  I do labs anywhere from 2 to 4 times a year depending 

if the thyroid meds are working. Since I was diagnosed 

with thyroid cancer in 2014 not only have I gained 

a ton of weight, but my meds keep changing 

every time I go see my endocrinologist.

Today I did labs for two different doctors whom I 

will be seeing before the month is over. It's becomes

 routine more than anything else. Just get it done with.

Florida is experiencing warm weather.  Love it, 

but of course in some areas the warmth has broken 

records.  It's been a year where records (weatherwise) 

are being broken all the time now.  Climate change.

 already. February is sure going by fast.

Tuesday February 4th~

Maintain a positive perspective: How you 

interpret situations greatly impacts your life... 

 Tuesday is rolling in nice and clear.  It's another 

gorgeous "winter" day here in the Sunshine State and 

things are about to get expensive.  Even more so.

Mornings are always a good time.  Quiet time spent with Sniff.

Yesterday for the first time M15 and F23 were spotted

 by the nest.  They both went in and did a little "housekeeping."  

They did not stay long, but it was a good sight and a promise

 that yes,they are going to get through this Avian Flu 🙏

Arvid and I have you guessed it, another busy 

day ahead of us.  We like being busy.  Sometimes to the

 point that we exhaust ourselves more than we should.

To all a very good day.  Missing my mom and dad. 

 Was so used to seeing them at the house.  Now the house

 is so quiet when we go.  Mom and dad brought life to it.

By the way don't believe everything the groundhog "says."

The greatest lesson in life is to know that everything

 changes, and nothing remains the same forever...

New Week ~ February 3rd

It's a new week full of possibilities. Let's 

seize every opportunity that comes our way...

 A new week begins and what a difference from last month. 

 February is predicted to be a warm and gorgeously beautiful

 month.  Same for March.  Best time to be in Florida.

I see many walk for us in the coming days.  Hopefully 

more of my wildlife friends will be out of hiding as well.

Arvid and I went to the house the other day, and we 

both looked at each other and said, "it feels so empty."  Mom 

and dad gave it life.  Now it feels like a sad empty shell.  

Arvid and I enjoyed a good outing yesterday.  I got used to 

having mom and dad with us on our Sunday outings, but home 

is always best and they are back home in North Carolina 🏡

To all a good week ahead.  As of yesterday both 

M15 and F23 were spotted.  Their critical time frame to 

overcome the Avian Flu "expires" around February 10th 🙏

February 2nd~

The essence of pleasure is spontaneity...

My sister Rima has her birthday in February.  Last

 year her birthday trip was to NOLA.  Seems like she/they 

fell in love with New Orleans, and plans on painting the

 town red again.  In the meantime, we are enjoying some

 quiet time today.  Miss my mom and dad.  It had become 

customary to have Sunday outing/dinner with them.

The first night of ArtFest was at sunset.  It was another beautiful 

evening, though not all the vendors were ready we did enjoy ourselves.

Day two of ArtFest was hot, but we bravely endured.

  Some were not so fortunate and needed a little medical 

assistance from heat exhaustion.  Always something.

Arvid and I made sure we were dressed for the sun.  Long 

sleeves and hats/cap for both of us.  Arvid has become super 

vigilant of the heat.  He takes every precaution necessary 👏

It was a very good day.  Turned out completely

 different than what we had in mind.  Loved it.

These spontaneous times are best.  Unplanned and so much fun.

Sniff is relaxing on his heating bed.  Arvid watching soccer.  All 

is good right now.  M15 and F23 are alive and still fighting off the 

symptoms of the bird flu.  Not in the clear as yet but hope is there.

Focus on the positive: Look for good news, 

inspirational quotes, or uplifting music...

February 1st~ New Month

 February is the border between winter and spring...

February is known as the month of love, after all 

Valentine's Day is in February.  Do we do anything special?  

Not at all.  As far as Arvid and I are concerned, it's just 

another day.  Yeah we're not romantics.  If anyone

 is a romantic it's Arvid.  Definitely not me.

Last year Arvid surprised me with a little romantic

 outing to watch the sunset.  He knows I love sunsets, and

 we were fortunate to have another great one that day.

In Norway our grand-daughter are enjoying winter 

sports. I miss these little ones a lot.  We both do.

Another good thing about February is that we have 

more family visiting.  This time from Norway.  Good times

 all the way.  Life is not always so easy, I have learnt to be 

grateful for all the good I have in mine and to appreciate it.

You're the closest to heaven, that I'll ever be.

Yesterday Arvid and I toured a little of ArtFest.  

We got there a bit early so many vendors were not 

up and running as yet.  We go back today.  I am looking

 forward to my lemonade, enjoying some of the food and 

definitely walking around checking it all out some more.

In the coldest February, as in every other 

month in every other year, the best thing to

 hold on to in this world is each other...
