Musical Sunday ~ (DONE)

Where words fail, music speaks...

One of the things we have really missed while living in Branson, MO
is the musical scene.  With the running of two hotels when we started, it was
impossible to do ANYTHING, and the fact that Branson does not
have the musical venues we usually go to does not help.

Now with one hotel and having a great team working for us we
have been able to do so much.  We have been back to The Sunshine State
a few times already, and plan on doing a few more trip
around town.  All thanks to Tiffany and Chris.

That being said today we will be heading once again to St. Louis
to see John Fogerty in concert.  Yes CCR as the group was known
(when he was in the group).  Our last trip to St. Louis took us to see
The Eagles in concert.  St. Louis is a pretty cool place for music
and it has the city vibe going for it.  We both love city life,
and hope to get back to it one of these days.

Happy Sunday all.  Remember whatever
you decide to do make sure it makes you happy.

One good thing about music,
when it hits you you feel no pain...

Allergy Season ~

Spring, when your nose does more running than you do...

It's not as if I wanted to be awake this early, but since
moving to Branson, Missouri I have had the worst
case of allergies.  From never before having
allergies, I have it in the most extreme way.

I was awaken by the sneezing, itchy eyes and everything
you can think of.  It's only 3:30 am and I do not wish
to disturb Arvid,  so I get up, brush Sniff, feed
Sniff, and have my cafe.  All I can say is that
it's going to be a very long day.

Almost Home will be having on of it's inspections
today for the pool.  Next week we will be having another
set of inspections, so overall it will be some pretty
 busy and interesting times ahead.

Last year was more stressful because I had to do it all
on my own.  The paperwork and running of the hotel. This
year I have Arvid, so together with Chris he makes sure everything
is up to par.  It's so good having just one hotel.  Now Arvid
can take care of the paperwork and I just run the hotel.

Sniff ate his foodies, got his brushing but decided to
go back to sleep.  Smart boy.  Just wish I could do the same.

Today we take the gang from Almost Home out to dinner after work.
We all love the BBQ wings at Drafts, so that's where we will be
heading. Hopefully I will not be sneezing throughout the meal.

Looking forward to the weekend and to see what it holds.
For sure soccer and lots of sunshine.  Weather has been great.
Actually has been downright HOT!  It's a nice change to not
have to wear winter clothes.  Yes, summer weather is here.

To all  a very good Friday.  Hopefully you all
have gotten more sleep than I did so far.

May your weekend be filled with positive thoughts,
kind people and happy thoughts...

One Day At A Time...Let's Go

Where I am today... I still have my ups and downs, but I take it one day at a
time and I just hope that I can be the best that I can possibly be, not only
for myself, but also for the ones around me that need me to be
strong and consistent....  Someone they can rely on...

I tell people that the best we can do is to live one day at a time.  Live it to the
fullest.  Live it with dignity and with courage, to never lose sight of the
real issues we face.  The time to really pull ourselves together and to
give it our best are the times when we feel like giving up.

When our defenses are at it's lowest, our morale is not at its best, that is
when we have to pull from deep within us and to say, "I will not give up.
I am a fighter, and if I can believe it I can achieve it."

To everyone out there, when things appear at be at their lowest, it is then time for us
to do something.  To just sit back and say, "it is God's will," to me is the easy
way out.  I believe that if I need help it is up to me to do something
about it.  If I want results I must be an active participant, and not
just sit in a corner praying and hoping all will turn out OK.

That is just not me.  I need to be a part of the solution and I need to be informed.
With this in mind, I am ready to face whatever it is the day holds for me.  Does not
necessarily mean I will always like it, but at least I know and I am better prepared to
deal with whatever life throws my way.  Not always easy, but a good attitude goes
much further than a bad one.  Arvid says, "sometimes you sound much
braver than you really are, and it's OK.  I love you for it."

Life is always throwing the unexpected at us.  Nothing else to do but to walk
straight into the challenge.  Always keep moving because once we stop
everything will come crumbling down on us all at once.  We all know that
the best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.

I'm trying to stay as calm as possible and focus one day at a time, but when
reality sets in, I feel everything: anxiety, excitement, nerves, pressure and joy..
Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means every thing's possible again.
You live in the moment, you die in the moment. You live in the light,
you die in the light. You take it all one day at a time...

All In A Days Work...

Either you love Chicago or you are wrong.  I'd rather be a
lamppost in Chicago than a millionaire in another city..

Yesterday was laundry day for this week.  As always I look at the schedule posted to see
how much is planned for this day.  You see all move-ins; move-outs and deliveries use
the same elevator I have to use.  The service elevator.  Last week I choose a day that
not much was scheduled.  Unfortunately everyone in the building decided to do
laundry on that day as well.  Good thing is that I made a few new "friends"

Arvid is into this fish thing so every week I try to make it for him.  He only eats salmon
and I always combine it with shrimp.  So garlic shrimp sauteed with mushrooms and apple
wood salmon with rice and a salad was his.  Of course I had something completely different.

We also had a little shopping outing.  Arvid buys more in Chicago than he does
when we are in Florida.  I don't mind because I get to check out some of my favorite
shops again!! and truth is Arvid always wants to buy me something, but if I don't need
it or like it, then why should I get it.  When I see it I will know. Not before.

Seems like Wednesdays is Sangria day for me.  After a little sprint through Macy's both
Arvid and I were ready for a little social Wednesday celebration.  Why not?

To all a good day and may you always live in interesting times.

Eventually I think Chicago will be the most beautiful great city left in the world...
