Rest Day = Day Off ~πŸ’ž

Almost everything will work again if you
unplug it for a few minutes…Including you...

Out of the office.  Will be back tomorrow πŸ˜‚It is very
important to recharge our batteries to uplift our spirits and
refresh our perspectives towards life. It is often said that the
best way to recharge yourself is to unplug yourself from the
daily duties for sometime.  It's what I plan to do today.

I am really tired from the weekend, and I feel run down,
with the cough and just not feeling so great.  Tomorrow will
be better.  Just a little rest, and I will be back to being me.

To all a good day and "see" you tomorrow.
Taking a break helps you understand yourself
better and recharges your drained battery.

Tomorrow is a new day.  Today is a "rest" day always
welcoming after all that has been going on in our lives.

A lot going on today so wishing everyone a good day.  Sniff is
happy, we are happy.  Back to "normal" and for us normal is busy.

Another wedding picture.  The lady is fuchsia is the mother
of the bride, and my sister Naleena.  She looked amazing.

Give yourself permission to unplug and regroup,
without feeling guilty ❤ . You can’t be there for
others if you don’t take care of yourself first...

October 25th ~πŸ’ž

Life takes you to unexpected places Love brings you home...

I took this picture sometime last week.  Seems like
dark clouds like it here a lot.  I think the dark clouds are
beautiful, of course so is sunshine and all kinds of weather.

It's good to be back home with Sniff.  At the same time, it was
also so very good to see everyone.  Will post pictures on a later post.
Today we are just catching up and taking care of business.

To all a very good day.  I still can't believe that little
Danielle is married.  She’s all grown up and ready to start a
family of her own, and this is the first step towards a new and exciting
chapter in her life. I think of her and the woman she's become, and I
can't help but feel proud. You're amazing, and I hope you
enjoy every second of your new adventure with Andrew.

It's not the home I love, but the life that is lived here...

24th October πŸ’ž

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark
from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep
gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us...

A new week begins.  Arvid and I are still in Pennsylvania
freezing our butts off.  Boy what a difference a state makes,
but soon we will be back home with Sniff all warm
and fuzzy again.  An yes, I miss him like crazy.

We have had a good time in PA. More to come when we are back home.

I feel grateful because I have a lot of love in my life.

I wouldn’t change anything, well maybe just a few.
I’ve made mistakes, but thanks to those mistakes, I’ve learned.

To all a good week ahead.  May it be productive and filled with good vibes.
Never regret a day in your life. Good days give happiness, bad days give
experience, worst days give lessons, and best days give memories.

Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining – it bores
everybody else, does you no good, and doesn’t solve any problems...

Wedding Bells Are Ringing ~πŸ’ž #october222022

Be confident and humble at the same time...

Danielle, my eldest niece and the eldest granddaughter in
our family is getting married.   This wedding was in the making
for almost two years.  Neither Arvid nor I can believe that our
little Danielle or Melvin as Arvid calls her (inside joke) is
the first of our nieces and nephews to tie the knot.

She's this free spirited girl and marriage was something
that was not foremost in her mind.  Well imagine our surprise.
Being Danielle she took it all in stride, yet even she was surprised
when in DC at a gathering with friends, Andrew fell on his
knees and "popped" the question a little over a year ago.

Like all brides, the process was more a process for Danielle's
mom, my sister Nina.  She like most parents wants everything to
be just right.  Well she didn't count on Danielle having her very own
specific requirements.  Danielle after all is a unique woman with ideas
and opinions that can not be easily changed.  If can be changed.

To Danielle and Andrew, a whole new world with new experiences
await you both.  I know you are up for anything Danielle.
Just know you are loved and you will always have the
love and support of all your family.  Always.

Today is the day we have all been waiting for.  Soon
wedding bells will be ringing.. It’s soon official! Here are
the next Mr and Mrs. #weddingbells.  #danielleandandrew

Friday October 21st ~πŸ’ž

Then one day, when you least expect it, the great adventure finds you...

It’s soon Danielle’s wedding and for our family it means
another time for us all to be together πŸ‘ any occasion that
we have together we will make it a memorable once.

It’s a little iffy if Arvid can or cannot make it at the wedding
Not happy about this because he and Danielle have a very
good relationship.  Hoping he can make it but at the
end of the day we have to set our priorities.

We are having some very busy days here.  Finally the tile
work has begun and close to the end soon. But the end is not
yet there and that’s the deciding factor for Arvid to go or not πŸ™

Danielle is unique.  And her wedding with Andrew is also unique.
It is what’s called “freestyle”. I do not know exactly what
that means.  All I know is that it’s not “traditional”

She has agreed to wearing the wedding dress.  She does
not want speeches, but her parents “begged” and she gave in
to her dad and mom making a short speech.  No one else.

In a way it’s good.  Been to so many wedding where speeches
take up hours. Miracle I did not fall asleep 😳.I would have
loved to say a few words, but that’s OK.  She knows how we
feel and she knows she’s loved.  That’s all that matters.

It’s going to be good seeing all the family together.
It’s been too long since we have all been together  I’m super
excited.  J will be flying in from Medellin, Colombia ❤️
can’t wait to see him.  As Gabsy says, "I'm stoked."

The time is nearing, excitement is building.  I can't wait
to see what their future together is like.  I know one
thing for sure, it will be amazing and it will be fun.

For starters, Andrews mom is the CEO of a seafood
distribution company.  Yes, they have all the seafood they want
when they want.  It's just a matter of opening the mom's freezer
and taking what they want.  Danielle is was not that crazy about
lobster, crabs.  OMG! why couldn't that be me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Adventures don't come calling like unexpected
cousins calling from out of town. You have to go
looking for them.  Make life a daily adventure...

20th October πŸ’ž And The Countdown Begins ~

Cherish your excitement while you have it...

So much has happened since moving to Florida, and I'm not only
referring to hurricane Ian.  With all the commotion we have not had
much time to think of Danielle's upcoming nuptials, but now things
are falling into place and I can spend a little time daydreaming.

The wedding will be in Pennsylvania.  Danielle and Andrew
plan on having it on a scenic rooftop bar/restaurant offering
wine, craft beer, cocktails and rotating chefs.  I was told by
Danielle that the sunsets are spectacular.  Can't wait.

October this year is much colder than it was last year.  Hopefully
they will not have to go to backup plan B.  It will definitely not be
the same. Cold or no cold I am looking forward to the rooftop.

Life continues.  People are still struggling due to Hurricane Ian.
For so many life has changed drastically for the worse,
at the same time for many others it's a new beautiful
beginning, and there is nothing wrong with that. πŸ’ž

To all a good day.  The countdown has begun.  Leaving
you with yesterday's sunset from our balcony.

The beginning is the most important part of the work...

Wednesday October 19th ~πŸ’ž

Danielle, you're my person forever...

In just a few more days we will be going to a wedding.
My eldest niece is getting married.  Little Danielle
is going to be Andrew's wife in less than a week.

Mid week and we have been working non stop.  We really
need this wedding just so that we can get away from all the work
we've been doing.  Arvid has worked non-stop with the tile guys.  The
only thing he didn't do was the actual tiling, everything else he did.
At the end of the day everyone is tired, and TV sure soothes.

Sniff of course has not been happy throughout this entire process.
He's locked in the bedroom from 8:00an to 5:00pm.  He cries,
he screams and as soon as the door opens he either escapes into
the living room or tries to.  If I am in the room with him
he's calm and tries to sleep, otherwise he just cries.

Now that the tile work is almost done, it's cleanup time.
Slowly but surely it's starting to look like home.

To all a good day.  Time to get busy.  My part is to scrub
each tile to get the extra grout and glue off.  My knees
will soon need to be replaced if not the entire me πŸ˜‚

Work harder than you think you did yesterday...

Tuesday October 18th ~πŸ’ž

At the end of the day, I am thankful that
my blessings are bigger than my problems...

With everything going on in our lives, there are so many
moments where it would be so much easier to just give in at times,
or just say, "why me?"  Not an option.  Not now not ever.

In life, there is always something to be thankful for. It’s easy
to complain about how chaotic the world is and how people can
be so evil towards one another, but complaining without action
just doesn’t change anything. If we start to be thankful for
everything we have, instead of what we do not have,
we’ll start to appreciate our life on this earth more.

I can complain all day long if I like, sometimes I indulge
and I do "whine" a bit, but after that it's back to being proactive.
I was raised that way.  Failing is not an option nor is giving up.
I may stumble, I  will also get right back up, as I know this is
the case for so many.  I am not unique.  This is life telling you
that it is up to you to make it your best life possible.

I leave with you one of my sisters beautiful creations.
Check her out on Facebook.  She is AMAZING!!

Monday October 17th~ πŸ’ž

Maybe this day/Monday is not one of your favorites.
But never forget that every day you wake up is an
amazing gift and it’s up to you to make it count...

For the last week Sniff and I have been mostly living in the
second bedroom.  Sniff has to be locked up so that he does not
get in the way of the tile guys, and I stay in unless I have errands
to do.  It's been pretty OK, but for some reason Sniff hates it.

Arvid is always with the guys helping them.
I cleanup after they are done for the day.  Too many
of us is just confusion and that does not work.

At the end of the day he's really tired, and the one
thing he does enjoy is his TV time.  The week is going
to be a good one.  The tiles will be done, we will be
able to clean up and get organized once and for all.

Arvid and I "discovered" a cool spot walking distance
from us.  It's a rooftop bar, what's amazing are the views.
Spectacular.  Arvid sat and he said to me, "I think we
made the right decision moving here to Ft. Myers."

Good morning everyone.  Today we switch bedrooms.
Sniff and I are now upgraded to the master bedroom while the
second one is being tiled.  Happy to be in a "clean" space.

Life offers you many doors, it's up to you
which one to open and which one to close...

Sunday October 16th~πŸ’ž

Not all storms come to disrupt your life,
some come to clear your path...

The tike work is underway.  Finally we will soon start to
get organized, for now we live in a room and the rest of
the place is all dusty.  Not complaining.  After it's all
done it will look so much better than before.

The one who it seems to have affected the most is Sniff.
He feels trapped in the room without knowing what is going
on, nor understanding why it is he does not have access to the
rest of his home.  Yes, life is sure hard on little Sniff πŸ˜‚

That's him trying to claw his way out of the room.  He has such
attitude.  He has everything he need in this room, yet he acts as
if he's a prisoner.  He cries and cries.  At the end of the day he
gets out, then he runs right back into the room.  Go figure.

Slowly but surely we will soon be organized.  Everything will
be thoroughly cleaned and we can begin to enjoy Fort Myers and
everything it has to offer.  Definitely looking forward to that.

Sunday is usually our "relax" day.  Today will be a little
more hectic than usual, but as we all know life happens and we
just have to go with the flow.  In the big picture, we are
doing pretty good compared to so many others.

A little tired, Sniff a little scared also, but still doing good.
To all a good day and make it an amazing one.

October 16th 2006, Brutus chose us to be his guardian
parents, and we chose him to be our little boy.  Sixteen years ago.
Brutus died in 2015, 7 years ago.  We do think of him often
and miss his.  Our Brutus took a piece of us with him.

In the end, you always have a choice...
