North Carolina May 31st ~

The things you take for granted someone else is praying for...

What's so great about today?  For me just about
everything.  I am fortunate to be spending time with
my parents and with my sister and husband.  Just
that alone makes this day extra special to me.

I remind myself always to never take anything nor
anyone for granted.  Especially my parents.  Every so
often when I think I do, I stop and I remind myself of
how precious every minute I have with them is. Many
are not so fortunate.  I am, and for that I am grateful.

Today is Reshma's birthday.  Our little girl turns 21.🕯🎂

Don't ever take for granted what you have today
because tomorrow it just might not be there...

Greetings From North Carolina ~May 30th

Live for moments you can't put into words...

We're here at mom and dad's.  Happy days ahead.

Glowers, a garden, bird houses.  All of it
can be found at mom and dad's home.

Nothing much planned for the day, but relax.
Chat.  Good food and good times.  The best of
times are always where mom and dad are 💖.

To all a very good day.  I am very grateful for every
minute I can spend with my parents, and having
Nina and David here makes it even better.

Hello everyone.  This 🠉 is where we spend the best of
times at mom and dad's.  Gathered around the kitchen
table.  Just talking, laughing and sharing life.  This is also
where Arvid and my dad usually tell stories of their lives.

Time to relax and make beautiful memories.

Memories are special moments that tell your story...

Road Trip To Mom And Dad ~ May 29th

Think how really precious is the time you have
to spend, whether it's at work or with your family...

Nina and David are going to North Carolina to visit
mom and dad.  Guess who decided to tag along.  Couldn't be
happier.  It's been a long time I have not seen Nina, David
nor my parents.  The next few days should be good.

In just a few hours we will be pulling into mom and dad's subdivision.

Wishing everyone a great day.  As for me I am
super happy to be spending time with Nina, David
and my parents for the next couple of days.

Having family time to reflect on your day is the best...

Thursday May 28th ~

You were born to win...

The waterways keep us entertained and makes for
the passing of each day much more pleasurable.

We saw these these two girls and one boy trying
to paddle board.  The girls just aced the paddle
boarding while the boy struggled 🚤 a lot.

And then we have the boy.  He gave it his best shot.

After seeing the boy struggle for some time,
the girl decided to jump in and give him a hand.
All's well that ends well.  Happy day for all.

Life is not always a matter of who wins or not.  It's all
about having a good time and enjoying the process, on the
other hand I love to win while still having a good time 😚

If you can be positive in a negative situation you win.
Winning is not everything but the effort to win is...

Wednesday May 27th ~

I like rainy days, it reminds me that
sometimes the world has sad days too...

As of right now the rain stopped for a little.
Rain or no rain we are still fortunate to see
boats passing by. Keeps us busy ⛵

Yesterdays sunset was stunning.  The rain also cleared
up for a little allowing the sun to peek out before setting.

After an hour or so the rain came calling again.
Sniff was back and forth hiding.  We also had
thunder, lightning and some very harsh winds.

Not much happening.  We have not been able to
go for our walks.  Too much rain.  Gym in our
condo still not open.  It's no fun right now.

Today is looking a little better, rain is predicted in the
afternoon, hoping it will  not rain because it's been a while
now with no walking.  Never know what can happen.

Looking at the skies right now, I an sure the rain
will not come.  We said the same  the last few days also 🤷

Hello Wednesday.  Please do not bring us more rain.

Even on a rainy day you can be someones
sunshine.  Attitude is everything...

Tuesday May 26th ~Here Comes The Rain Again

It's a new normal and I really do think that global
weirding is the best way to describe what we're seeing...

And just like that the beaches reopened.
There are a lot of happy beachgoers today.  This
is probably the best reopening in a long time.
Happy days are back, and no Arvid and
I will not be going to the beach.

We live surrounded by beaches, and yet we rarely
ever go.  We go to a beach only when on vacation.
Our last time on a beach was in Puerto Rico.

I do love the beach and I would love to go there
more often.  Who knows maybe I will just decide to
do it on my own.  I like long walks on the beach.

Here at home we are just taking it easy.
We are still in self imposed isolation.  I asked Arvid
if he would be comfortable seeing or being around
other people right now and he said "no"

I asked him if he would be comfortable by July and
he said not really.  Right now it's weird.  Everything is open,
yet we are still in isolation.  How long will we continue
to be this way?  I'm not sure, but I miss my family.

As of now, Norway's summer trip is on hold.
Arvid is not comfortable with travelling, but who knows
what tomorrow holds.  Everything is changing daily.
What was the "way" yesterday, no longer is today.

Plus anywhere you go out of the US one has to be
self isolated for at least 10 days, and when it's allowed
for foreigners to come back in the US, they will also have
to be isolated for 2 weeks. That is unless the guidelines
change. This is not easy times if one wants to travel😞,
but guidelines are constantly changing each day

The rain continues.  Last night we had tornado warnings.
The streets are flooded.  This is the start of the rainy
season in Florida.  Everywhere it is wet and humid.

It's a new day, fresh start, fresh energy, new
opportunities. Get your mind right, be thankful,
😊🥰 be positive and start your day right...

Memorial Day ~

The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice
for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude...

Today, May 25th Americans across the country
will remember the brave men and women
who gave their lives for our country .

In the End, we will remember not the words of
our enemies, but the silence of our friends...

Monday Vibes ~Raining Again ☔

If all that we see are the scattered pieces of ‘what was,’
the story of ‘what is yet to be’ will never be told.  If,
however, we are able to envision the pieces as what
they are now freed to be, the story of ‘what is yet to be’
will stand among the greatest ever told 😎...

A new norm is upon us.  Maybe people will now be
wearing masks for a very long time, and not just because
they have to but because the feel much safer with it 🤷

Monday here, a brand new week upon us.
Let see what amazing things the week holds for us.
Can't wait to see all the changes taking place.  Beaches
reopen tomorrow. Let the good times roll again 🙈

Here at home it has been raining since early
yesterday morning.  The rain continues and seems
like it is also going to be raining all day today and most
of the week.  Hoping as always the forecast is wrong,
but for the last 2 weeks it has been spot on⛈☔.

When the internet came along, everybody said
it would mean the death of television, newspapers.
There is a dip, and it comes back to a new
normal. We're in the dip; we're waiting
to see what the new normal is...

Sunday May 24th ~

The world is on a bumpy journey.
Maybe it's time to find a new normal...

Life is returning to "normal" a new normal that is.
As Arvid and I went driving yesterday, we checked
out some restaurants.  We wanted to see what it.

Life is returning to Fort Lauderdale.
People were out, people were laughing.  People
were having fun.  Sooner or later it had to happen.
One cannot stay cooped up forever.

Restaurants are officially open, and I would
love to go, but for now I think we will continue to
wait it out a bit longer.  Mr. Cautious thinks it's the
best thing to do. I will agree with him for now.

The beaches are quiet, and it's being guarded by
Fort Lauderdale's best.  Come Tuesday, the beaches
will be reopening and gone will be the quiet times.

It was good to see restaurants with people again.
Life is surely returning.  Normal is no longer normal,
but whatever the new normal is, it's starting to look good
already.  Hope soon Arvid and I will be sitting out having
a meal and enjoying this "new" experience again 😋🍹.

Good morning everyone.  The day is currently
a little on the dark gloomy side.  It is raining again,
but hopefully it should clear up later on.

Happy Sunday all and this is going to be another
great week ahead.  Life is returning to South Florida.

The new normal is to always
be better than your old normal...

Saturday May 23 ~ Memorial Day Weekend

May we never forget our fallen comrades. Freedom isn't free...

It is  Memorial Day Weekend here in the USA. It is
a federal holiday in the United States.  Remembering those
who died while serving in the country's armed forces.

Here at home we celebrate by staying in.  Arvid is back
into soccer so together he and Sniff are having some guy time.

Usually this is the weekend pools reopen, and people are
getting ready for BBQ's and the beach.  With COVID-19 still
among us, the beaches here in Fort Lauderdale will remain closed.
Precaution yes, but they are scheduled to open on Tuesday.

Wishing everyone a safe Memorial Weekend. It's better
to fight for something in life than to die for nothing.

As we express our gratitude, we must never
forget that the highest appreciation, is not
to utter words, but to live by them...

Friday May 22nd ~

Some people feel the rain, others just get wet...

It's been raining everyday for the last week and
a half.  I like rain ☔, but now it's about time it stopped
a little.  The duckies have been doing really good.
There are water puddles everywhere you go.

We try to get our walks in, but some days like yesterday, it was
just not possible.  It never stopped raining.  Other days we have
☂️ been lucky because it stopped raining by the time we went
walking, even though at times we were caught in a little drizzle.

Rain or no rain the days are beautiful but very humid.
Looking forward to the day the gym in our building
would reopen.  Not a fan of humidity at all.

Even though we have reopened, the roads are
still very quiet.  So far restaurants are not getting
the business they expected, but the weekend
is coming, and that might change🤷🤷.

As we walked past the Downtowner Saloon, there
were less people around compared to when everything
was closed.  Many are being very cautious.  Just like us.
Hoping that soon we will be enjoying Fridays here again

Yesterday was takeout day.  I am hoping we can soon
go to an actual restaurant and have lunch there.  Working
on Arvid so who knows.  maybe Sunday?  Something
simple, and of course outdoor seating.  It can happen.

Already thinking about the weekend.  What will we
do differently?  Not much, but somehow it seems like
weekends we make plans for things we want to do.
Who am I kidding we make plans everyday.

Fort Lauderdale is CONSIDERING reopening its
beaches, but not for the long weekend.  The Memorial Day
Weekend is definitely not going to be a beach one for the
greater Fort Lauderdale.  Not many happy faces around 🏖

Wishing everyone a fabulous Friday.  Things are
slowly taking shape and slowly but surely, little by little
life will soon begin to feel "normal" again.  For some,
like us it may take a little longer.  Thank you Arvid 🙄

May your weekend be filled with positive
thoughts,  kind people and  happy moments...

Thursday May 21st ~

The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise.
It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us...

I wonder what today holds in store for us?  For everyone?
Let's hope it's another great day, and that life as we
once knew it is coming back, slowly but surely 😃.

Being Thursday I know it's take out day.  Already
happy just thinking about it.  No cooking today.

If the only prayer you said in your whole
life was, ‘Thank you,’ that would suffice...
