Tuesday In Puerto Rico ~

Happiness is taking pictures and making memories..

 There are so many things I love about mornings.

  In Puerto Rico I love my morning walks, and the fact

 that I get to watch the sunrise just about everyday. 

 I also get to see my feral kitties and feed them all 

of this while enjoying the beautiful sights and fresh air. 

 I am definitely in Paradise. Grateful and thankful.

There has been some rain just about everyday.  If I'm lucky,

 it falls early in the morning before I have to go walking.

  Unfortunately, lately I have not been so very lucky.

The other day Arvid and I were out having lunch and

 after each customer leaves the tables, chairs everything 

 are always cleaned.  But that day we say that the waiter had 

a batter operated bottle filled with alcohol to spray everything

 down. Was the coolest thing.  We stayed back to watch.

Here in Puerto Rico life sure is interesting.  Always 

something going on, and for those who know Arvid and I,

 there is never a moment when we are not staying busy.

Tuesday already.  Whatever the day holds, do it with a smile.

This is just thrown in there as food for thought.

  A friend posted it, and it made me laugh, yet it's not funny.

Here in Puerto Rico it is a sunny day.  Very warm also.

Christmas in the tropics, it sure is a happy time of the year.

Make sure your life is full of happy memories to the end..

Monday December 7th ~

 It is not that we use technology, we live technology

Christmas is coming early for Arvid.  Today hopefully he

 get's to "see" his mother via Skype.  Technology, what a great

 "tool" 📞  Definitely has changed the world in so many ways. 

 Be it good or not so good. Love it or hate it.  It's here to stay.

The days are going by too fast.  Once the new week 

begins, it just flies.  Soon 2020 will be done and over with.  

Good riddance too. We all hope that once it's done and over,

 2021 will start with a bang of all things good for all of us.

It's that time of the year.  Christmas in Puerto Rico.

Sunday December 6th ~

Hang on. Be tough.  Better times are coming...

Come tomorrow Puerto Rico will be experiencing

tighter restrictions due to the spread of Covid-19. 

  Life as we all knew it, is not the same anymore. 

 Hoping 2021 will bring better times.  That being 

said, there is still so much to be grateful for.

Sunset on the beach.  Another of my favorite times of the day.

Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens,

everyday can end beautifully. I'm looking at it.

Puerto Rico is famous for Coquito during the holidays.

  My sister Nirvana has already started to make for the

 neighbors and her friends.  It's a tradition, and it is much better

 than any store bought gift.  it's made with love and, care

 and time.  The happiest time of the year is upon us.

Happy day all and remember always, there's

 something about a Holiday that isn't all 

about how much money you spend 🎅

Saturday December 5th~

 What I like about photographs is that they capture a 
moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce...

Earlier this week Arvid and I made a new furry friend. 

 For some reason he choose to come to our table and no 

one else's.  He sat quietly under the table, every so often 

rubbing against Arvid's legs.  We enjoyed this outing even 

more because of our furry friend. and yes he ate very well.

He was patient.  Never moved never cried just

 stared at us with those big eyes.  We are suckers for kitties.

  Both of us.  He was adorable and I named him little head.

  Arvid and I checked out a new place.  Not far from us.

 All open spaces, exactly what we liked.  Thanks to

 my sister Nirvana for telling us about it.  

She, J and Kimsy were there a few days before us,

 I saw the pictures and knew we had to check it out.

 Sure looking forward to soon going back. 

I just happen to like this bridge.  Not famous or anything.

Arvid, Sniff and I are having a great time in this beautiful island.

Everyday we tell ourselves how lucky we are to be living here.

Not sure what the day old, but whatever it is, I am

 grateful. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Saturday. 

 Enjoy with your loved ones, at the same time keep your

 distance.  Covid-19 does not discriminate 😷.

Friday ~

 Don't wait for the perfect moment,
take the moment and make it perfect...

Friday is so different these days from what our "typical" 

Fridays used to be.  Back home it meant going to the 

DownTowner Of course Covid changed that.

We moved to Puerto Rico to "escape" Covid, but 

there is no escaping it.  Covid is everywhere and surging 

like crazy.  Compared to being in Fort Lauderdale,

 where we actually did nothing from mid March to 

August, Puerto Rico is our little paradise.

Since coming to Puerto Rico we have been able to 

eat out, walk around the beach, swim and have our Friday

 outings.  Now with the surge of cases, we have decided 

we need to be a little more cautious.  Compared to being

 in Florida, we are still doing great, and can still do many

 things we would not do back home in Florida.

I enjoy staying updated to what's happening around 

the world, and the fact that Arvid is Norwegian I always 

give him the latest news happening in Norway.  Just for fun. 

 Most times he just looks at me and says, "I don't really care,"

😲 but I still do it because after all he is Norwegian even

 though he is actually more Floridian than Norwegian.

Norway, home of our two little granddaughters and 

family.  So I think it's important that Arvid knows what's

 going on  in his homeland.  Thank you google.

I was in Norway once for Christmas.  It was white, 

cold but beautiful.  So much snow that year.

Christmas this year in Puerto Rico.  The governor

 of Puerto Rico had implemented tons of new restrictions.

  Puerto Rico is now on partial lockdown.  Again.

There are talks of a full lockdown as of January 1st, 

 only because if it were implemented now most would most 

likely violate it.  Due to the holidays.  Welcome to the 

world of Covid 19.  The new norm as it is known.

Governor Wanda Vazquez is considering several 

recommendations to control COVID-19, which

 include closing common spaces in shopping centers, 

using outdoor areas in restaurants, as well as guidelines 

to reduce the time consumers spend in supermarkets, 

pharmacies, and gas stations, among others.

The island of Puerto Rico is looking at another lockdown 

if the numbers keep going up.  All over the United States

 measures are being taken to control COVID-19,

 that is everywhere except the Sunshine State.

For now we feel safe and better being in Puerto Rico.

 Christmas is the island is a party, but this year nothing will 

be the same anywhere.  But for now we are enjoying the little

 freedoms we have in the middle of this terrible pandemic.

To all a happy day.  The month is already

 winding down.  Before you know it, it's Christmas 

day, and best of all my mom's birthday.

May you never be too grown up to

 search the skies on Christmas Eve...

Thursday December 3rd ~

We dream in colors borrowed from the sea...

As the writing in the sand says, I am thankful.

  Thankful for life, for my loved ones and for the opportunity

 to be able to live in Puerto Rico once again.  My childhood

 home, where the kindest people on earth live, and 

of course where my sister and Kimsy are.

Arvid and I took a walk along the beach hoping to catch 

the sunset.  We got some of it.  I can't believe we go walking 

on the beach on a regular basis.  For many this is the "norm"

 but us, we who live in Fort Lauderdale and have beaches at our 

doorsteps, we have never ever done that in over 10 plus years.

I an happy because Arvid is loving Puerto Rico as well.

In other parts of the country-world.

Meanwhile here in Puerto Rico we are having warmth and sunshine.

To all a happy day.  Stay warm and stay safe.

The days are getting colder, have a warm heart...

Wednesday December 2nd ~

 You are that break in the clouds that let s the sun
 shine through.  Happy birthday in heaven 💗...

Today a very special person celebrates his birthday

 💕in heaven.  Happy birthday Paul Michael Riley. 

 You will always hold a special place in my heart.

 To this day I can picture your smile and I hear your 

laughter.  I loved you with all my heart and for the

 time we had together I will forever be grateful.

Losing you was one of the hardest and most

 unfortunate moments in my life, and I can't say 

that knowing you are in heaven brings me comfort. 

 Because I don't know that.  Al I can say is thank you

 for the life we shared. It was a wonderful time.

Thank you for your part in my journey 💙.

Today I am very happy with Arvid.  I cannot picture

 life without him.  It is strange how life takes you in so 

many directions.  Years ago I could not imagine falling in 

love again.  Today I cannot imagine life without Arvid.

I still have moments of grief and I sometimes wonder what 

could have been, but I am happy and nothing will change that. 

After losing Paul, it took a long time before I was "OK,"  though 

I still have some flashbacks, I am now at peace with it. 

 Losing Brutus, I'm still not at peace with that. 

 Nor with losing Shadow.  Having Sniff in our life

 is a blessing and for that I am grateful.

What life has taught me is that there is always 

always something to be grateful for.  My sister's neighbor 

will soon be burying her son who died due to Covid.  I am

 not sure how a parent can ever get over the loss of a child.

 My heart is not at ease because I feel that anguish. I am 

not sure many will understand, but my heart knows.

Not sure what our day hold, but I know that we have

 it better than so many.  For than I am grateful.

December 2nd is already starting out as another warm

 and beautiful day.  Best of all we are in Puerto Rico,

 and I have my sister and Kimsy close by.  I love it.

When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment

 goes out and the tide of love rushes in...

Florida Becomes Third State To Top 1 Million COVID-19 Cases

 Courage doesn't always roar.  Sometimes courage is the quiet 
voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow,"

And just like that, Florida becomes the third state to reach

 the 1 million case mark, joining Texas and California.

A statewide stay-at-home order was issued in April, and

 the governor began scaling back restrictions in May. 

Cases ballooned in July, and another surge in November 

has led to renewed calls for the governor to issue a statewide

 mask mandate. Unlike in the spring and summer, officials 

have not adopted additional restrictions in Florida to

 prevent the virus from spreading, and Gov. DeSantis 

said on Monday that he will not be issuing 

any lockdowns or mask mandates.

Florida, where the economy is more important than human life.

If you want to have a good time regardless of everything else, 

Florida is where you need to be.  Food for thought.

When this quarantine is over let's not tell some people...

December 1st 2020 ~ A New Month Begins ~

New month new goals, new beginnings, new start,

 new mindset, new focus, new intentions, new results..

 New month begins.  Last month of 2020.  The world 
anxiously awaits the end of this year, and we all hope

 that the new year will bring us a brighter future

 and better things, as in NO MORE COVID!

Arvid, Sniff and I have been in Puerto Rico for three

 months.  The way I see it, we need to go home fairly soon. 

 I told Arvid that we cannot be here longer than February, virus 

or no virus.  I need to go home and take care of a few things.  

We are definitely enjoying life here.  Love that my

 sister, Kimsy and J are around, and we get to see them 

at least once a week.  Makes being here even better.

Arvid and I have really gotten to know the area 

we live in.   Arvid knows how to get around the island 

as well as anyone else living here.  Arvid knows 

how to get around anywhere.  Period. 

Looking forward to better things to come.  December

is the month where miracles can happen, and the have.

Here in Puerto Rico we are having 75 degrees F. 

 The sun is out and we are pretending that we have snow.

  Sniff and I like seeing the snow fall.  Even if it's

 only pretend.  Happy 1st of December. 

For last months words belong to last month's

 language and next months words await 

another voice.  Happy New Month...
