2011 ~ Goodbye...

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what youcould; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense....

It seems like only yesterday we were welcoming 2011 with my mom and dad here in Florida.  They were here with us for an entire month.

What a year it has been.  For us this has been a very good year.  We started out the by remodeling 3 houses, one of which we now live in.  This has been a new and different experience for us since we were both used to living in a condo.

Both Arvid and I did quite a bit of the work on our own and found out that this was something we really enjoy doing...who knows maybe will make a habit out of fixing up and selling homes.  Very challenging and then seeing the end results was always a pleasure.

We had friends and family visit during the winter months.  This year even Arvid's mom made it to Florida.  We always have some friends that come from Norway for the car auction in January.  It has been a little tradition to have them over at our place and have a fun night together.  Always a good time with friends.

Business was a bit slow in the beginning, but then it really picked up.  Making 2011 an AWESOME year.  2012 is already starting to look good as well.  Just staying positive seems to have good Karma for us.

Summer as usual we spend in Chicago.  I love the summers there,  Life is relaxing and there is always something to do and places to go to.  I love the relaxed environment of Chicago life.  People are more real and down to earth.

While in Chicago we made several trips back to Florida and New York.  I was fortunate to be someones personal shopper this summer.  Made coming back and forth to Florida enjoyable and fun.  We also took time out to visit my sisters in PA, and Virginia.

Once back in Florida, things really got busy and have not stopped.  So many plans, so much to do and so much to look forward to.  In between all of this craziness we did take some days off to spend Christmas in NC with my family.  As always those are one of my favorite times.  It was very cold for us coming from The Sunshine State, but being around loved ones makes even the cold seem like fun...welllllllllllll.....

The last few weeks of 2011 have been crazy.  It still is and will continue into 2012, but neither Arvid nor I will have it any other way.  We love challenges and it seems we always have our wish.  Our life is one challenge after another.

To all my friends I wish you a 2012 filled with happiness, love, health and prosperity.
One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this:  To rise above the little things....

until next time...
