One Of Those days ~

I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can
adjust my sails to always reach my destination...

Nothing different happened.  I woke up.  Had my cafe,
fed Sniff, brushed Sniff and let my mind wander a little.
Not much just a little, but then suddenly something changed.

Not sure what it was.  But suddenly the day that started out
so good took a turn.  I know it will pass.  It always does,
but right now a piece of my heart is missing,
and I don't know how to make it better.

I am sure it must be the fact that soon I will be taking
Sniff back to Florida.  I guess I am thinking about when
we walk in the door and how empty the apartment would be.

I can't say I was consciously thinking about it, but
I know it is there.  Sniff will fill up the room
as soon as we walk in.  That I can bet on.

I will be very busy today.  Packing, cleaning and visiting
a few people from Almost Home.  Today I will see Angel, and a
few others.  Very excited about that and yes, a little sad because
I know this may be the last time for that as well.

Life changes and we have to go with the flow.  Not always so easy,
but in order to move forward one has to keep moving.  Arvid and I
have become experts in moving.  We seem to do it all the time.

Once again we will be moving.  From branson back to
Fort Lauderdale.  Yes, back to our "normal" lifestyle.

To all a good day and a memorable Labor Day.

Your surroundings may change but your essence and
your personality pretty much stay the same...

Happy Day ~

Friendship refreshes the soul.  Our furry friends do speak,
but only to those who know how to listen...

Even though yesterday we started off our day very cold,
by noon the sun was out and the day sure warmed up nicely.
I love this weather.  The air is always crisp and refreshing.

When I got home, it was still so beautiful I decided to explore
the neighborhood.  Something we did when we first got to Branson,
but after that life got so busy we never had time for much more.

It was always work, work, work.  Today we have gotten to the
point where we can now have some extra time.  We both love it.
Owning just one hotel has given us "freedom" to do so much.
Seems like the way were were.  Almost.

I was able to enjoy the sunset,  and I also
encountered a few furry friends.  I met up with a family of four doggies.
Dad and his 3 pups. Of course I approached them, petted
them and had a good time seeing them chasing after each other,
but when I was on my way back home they all decided to follow me.
At first I thought it cute, but then i was worried about them not
being able to find their way back to their home.

Thankfully I met another couple.  Of course we started talking and they
reassured me that the doggies always find their way back home.  Even so,
one of the little ones followed me for the longest time.  He was a cutie and i
look forward to walking that way again.  Maybe this time with some treats.

I also met Thunder.  She is one of several kitties that live close by.
Both Arvid and I always drive by that way just so that we can see her and her
siblings.  Yesterday all I saw was her.  Maybe today I will also see the others.

Sniff has been "talking" all morning.  He wants me to play
all the time with him.  I do play with him, but he never gets tired.
Well time to give him some more play.  Sniff has the cutest
"voice."  hard to ignore.  Almost impossible.

Happy Friday all.  Hopefully the weekend
is already filled with fun things to do.

Best friends come in al breeds.  Happy Friday everyone.  Forget all the
things you've encountered this week and have a great weekend...

Long Day Ahead ~

Whoever said, "what you don't know can't hurt you "was an idiot"
Not knowing is the worst feeling in the world...

I don't know what it must be like for my sister in Puerto Rico and all the
people in the island.  I can only imagine what it must feel like to wake up in
darkness and not know when and if you will have the basic necessities.

Things we always take for granted.  We have not heard from her and the
day is not going well for me.  Have not heard from Carmen either.  Just
makes for a day of more waiting for me.  Another long day ahead.

I have already had more than enough coffee and tea for the day.  I have
been on the outside and checked out the changes in color of the leaves
and scenery.  Still I am restless.  I feel as if I should be doing more.

I see these pictures and I remember hearing this:
What we take for granted some else is praying for.

They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone.  The truth is,
you knew exactly what you had.  You just didn't think you were going to lose it...
