Differences...

Our greatest strength as a human race is our ability to acknowledge our differences, our greatest weakness is our failure to embrace them......

Nothing deep about today's post just some basic style differences I have been seeing lately among people from different countries compared to the US.  Nothing unusual there, but it is just that lack of common sense that makes me wonder about people in general.  I have truly started to agree that common sense is not so common after all.

Just for instance, a few weeks ago we were at a Blues Festival taking place  in the park, almost 100F and what do we see...young girls with spiky high heels trying to navigate their way on the grass.  Had it not been so ridiculous we would have probably seen the humor in it.  Right there and then we did not.  Forget all the make-up and jewelery they had on.

The lifestyle in Florida is very relaxed and casual.  Seeing how all these young  girls/women dress is sometimes very amusing.  Don't get me wrong I admire people who dare to be different, I just don't think much of people with a lack of common sense.

First, I believe that what makes us the individual we are are our differences and our ability to accept the differences of others.

There are just certain things though that I still find kinda strange when I see.  For instance it being so hot here in Florida, we hardly wear stockings when going out...I think it's kind of silly in this heat.  This is not unusual in most countries especially in the colder ones, but here in Florida it's silly...at least that's what I think.

....but please use common sense:)

We were Downtown a few nights ago.  Out for a casual dinner.  Nothing fancy.  Just about everyone was dressed casual....., but then all of a sudden in walks in a few young girls.  Not from the US.  I knew right away by their clothes, too dressed up... what I would call frumpy, hair and makeup (too much) and of course by their language.  It was not English.  They looked out of place, but I have to say that I admired them and anyone who has the courage to be different and self confident at the same time.

When we lose the right to be different, we lose the right to be free....

until next time...
