Life is what happens while you're
busy making other plans...
Getting to PA and VA was not so easy for me
this time. For starters my knee is not good. I
requested a wheelchair and that helped a lot.
Right before leaving home my stomach hurt like
crazy and never stopped. At some point I thought I was
having a ruptured appendix. Feeling a bit better today.
We arrived in Washington, D.C. to the worst rain I have
ever experienced. Yes, Florida has it even worse, but at
least it stops and starts. Here Arvid drove for 4 hours to
PA with non stop pounding rain, add to that crashes.
We got to Nina and David’s and just like that
the rain had stopped a good half hour before. We
drove through a beautiful path of Cherry Blossoms which
were almost done with their bloom but still we saw some.
We arrived at their home to another perfect sunset.
I didn’t capture much for I was sick as a dog.
We didn’t have a lot of time with them just a few
hours but it was good they have a beautiful home.
As beautiful as the one they have in Tampa, Florida.
We enjoyed their company had a few good laughs and
chatted for a long time. Loved it. So relaxing .
We spent the night at the hotel. Nina and David
wanted us to stay with them, but Arvid and I like our privacy.
The only place we stay the night, is at mom and dad's.
Saturday we drove to Rima’s. This was where
Arvid was looking forward to going. Rima and George
bought a new home on a 10 acre property with a huge barn.
Arvid was keen on seeing the barn. Did not disappoint.
We got to them and went to lunch at this really
cool pizza restaurant. The menu had everything
you can imagine. Since my stomach was hurting I
could not eat much, but we had a good time.
We saw the sunset from their home. Just unbelievable.
Sunday we were back at Rima and George’s place. Today
Sunday we were back at Rima and George’s place. Today
was grill time and boy was it delicious. We had steaks
and even asparagus hand picked from their garden.
This was the day we saw the barn. As Arvid said,
“so much potential here.” Arvid took measurements
and spent an extra forty five minutes with George
walking around it giving ideas to George.
I can see Arvid making plans for their barn.
Rima has a ton of ideas as to what she wants to do.
I’m so impressed with her. She, my little sister has
become a businesswoman and thinks business.
Arvid and I found a little time to go to a pub.
Unfortunately I was not able to do much but we did
go to the pub and we saw the Kentucky Derby race.
Was a good very time A few years ago, Arvid and I
were at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby.
All I can say is that no matter where
we go, it's always good to be back home.
Home is where the heart is...
