Derby Week ~

Enjoy your own life without comparing it to that of another. Be crazy. 

 Be stupid.  Be whatever because life is too short to be anything but happy...

This is Derby week here in Kentucky, and from what I have seen so far the main

 event is the HAT!  Yes, the hat is a must if you plan on going to the Kentucky Derby.

Yesterday I was at the mall and yes everyone was buying hats like crazy.

If you can imagine it, there is a hat for it.  Macy's was almost sold out on Derby hats.

There was every color imaginable , every shape and every style. 

 I just stood aside and watched the ladies do their thing.

The hats start all the way from $100 and I have seen some all the way

 in the thousands as in 20K +   Before Derby day, these hats will all be sold out.

  Yesterday most places I visited were just about sold out.  How crazy is that?

Our time here so far has been interested.  Last night we had a social

 gathering with cocktails and hors d'oeures.  As usual Arvid did 

not try anything.  He stuck to his cocktails.

Another interesting day awaits us.  I have a goal in mind so for

 me the quest to find the right dress continues on today.

Busy Days Ahead...

Everyday is a good day to be alive, whether the sun's shining or not...

Enjoying some very beautiful weather.  Nice to have sunshine, and yet feel the coolness
 in the air.  It is the windy city after all.  We have some very busy days right now.  
Getting estimates, meeting pet sitters for Sniff Sniff.  It's busy.  Love it.

Sniff Sniff is still taking in his surroundings.  So far he is doing pretty OK. Yesterday he did 
not eat nor use the litter pan.  I had to feed him with a syringe.  Hope he's better today.

When we left Chicago last year, I left Brutus' water bowl out still filled with water. 
Of course the water evaporated.  The bowl needed a good cleaning, but the shock of
 seeing it took me back to last year, and to Brutus drinking water from it.  I miss Brutus
 very much, and I am worried that Sniff is not eating.  He's not used to travelling as yet.

In Chicago we don't have a car.  We walk everywhere and when needed we take a taxi

 or if we have to go too a far away place we of course rent a car.  We love walking in 

the city.  It's full of life, and of course it is a good way to stay fit an healthy.

We are looking forward to seeing how Sniff adapts to his new home.  

He is so like Brutus so I imagine he will do well fairly fast.

The secret is keeping busy and loving what you do...
