On Any Given Day ~

Our goal should be to understand our differences...

When it comes to steaks, all Arvid would eat was Filet Mignon,
I like the New York Strip.  Tastier as far as I was concerned, and a
much bigger portion.  Yes, when I eat I kike to have enough.
Never know when I will have my next meal as I like to say.

For about a month now Arvid has switched from his favorite cut of steak
to mine, and he says it's much tastier, and of course bigger portion.

This has been a very hectic week at both hotels, but in good ways.
Staying busy and full with the right kind of people is what it's all about.  Branson
is packed with people.  There are bursts of people coming and going.

I can't seem to keep up with it any more. All I know is that we are booked up,
and hotel life/business is doing good.  Not always the easiest of times,
but that we knew when we took a chance on this lifestyle.  One day I look
forward to going back home to Florida and being "bored" again

Not sure if this is good or not so good, but I am very attached to
many of the tenants. Running a business such as this, I don't know if
that is the best thing to do, but what can I say?  Both Arvid and I have
learnt so much from them.  It is impossible to not get a "little"
involved in their story.  Me more than Arvid.

We all have a story and bottom line I am a good listener.  I know what their
pets eat.  I know what is their favorite candy or food, and I always try to
get it for then.  There are a few tenants whose kitties I just adore.
Well as you can imagine these kitties always get a little
something extra from me.  I just can't help it.

My tenants have the biggest hearts.  With what little they sometimes have,
they always find it in themselves to share with others.  They look out for each
other and here at Almost Home we are just one big extended family.

We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.
As a general rule, it pays to be confident, helpful and nice...

Happy Day~

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something
we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have...

I realize that no matter what life throws at me, I am very fortunate.
I look back at days before life became "complicated"  "before Brutus died"  Life
was so easy going.  Not so much anymore, but still good.  For that I'm grateful.

No matter what day it is as long as we wake up to see it it is a special day.
That's what counts.  Think of all those who are not fortunate to see tomorrow
then we realize that whatever we think is a problem is just a little bump
on the road, we will work on it to over come.  Life is not always
a bed or roses, but what we put into it is what we receive.

Good morning everyone.  It's Monday.  It's time to rise and shine.

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving,
make everyday a holiday and celebrate just living...

Summer Days Are Here ~

Dear Saturday, you are my favorite...

Saturday is one of my favorite days of the week.  First I only go to the "office"
for a few hours.  Same goes for Arvid, but my "work" day is shorter than his.
Secondly I get to go to the grocery store and spend s little extra time.
My favorite type of shopping is at the grocery store.

The best part of Saturdays though is that we can eat at home.  Six days a week
we eat out.  Not the healthiest way to go, but the fastest for sure.
No one can eat as fast as Arvid and I. Not sure this is something
to brag about, but with our lifestyle it is a necessity.

Today at the grocery store I stocked up on my fruit.  Cherries are in season
so that will be the fruit for the next few days until we get tired of it.  Always
bananas, mangoes and pineapple on that list as well.  Mangoes are definitely my
favorite fruit.  Still have some papaya so I think I will be OK for a few days.

Shrimp Scampi on the menu today with sauteed mushrooms and a fresh salad.
Tomatoes were picked from our tree here at home.  Happy day here.

Happy Saturday everyone.  It is definitely summer weather here.
What better way to cool off than with a chilled watermelon?

Nina and family arrived in The Sunshine State.
They are now home.  Wish we were there also with them.

Every summer has its own story.  Enjoy the little things...

Let's Do It...

A brand new week to laugh, love and shine your light...

The weekend was very good.  Made better by sitting out on a Friday
evening enjoying good Mexican food and yes, a delicious PiƱa Colada.

We have had some gorgeous sunny days, and by the looks of it, it is just
getting better and better.  Fingers crossed that we get no more rain.  Talking
about rain, Arvid and I visited the Dam.  The water levels in the lakes were still
very high so the dam was still open.  I was pretty impressed with it.

What used to be parking lots are now flooded.  Picnic benches covered
with water. The trees are covered with water.  Hopefully the rain
will stop and things will get back to what is considered "normal."

Looking forward to the new week.  To see what new challenges we
are presented with.No matter what life is always interesting and definitely
you never know what will happen once you get to your hotel.

Here is  to a good start of the new week for all of us.
Happy Monday friends.  Let's do this!

One small positive thought in
the morning can change your whole day...
