Road Trip To California ~

On a dark desert highway cool wind in my hair,
we are California bound.  Let's go on a road trip...

I couldn't be more excited even if I tried.
Today my sisters Nina, Nirvana and I drive from
Las Vegas to California.  This will be an amazing time
with them and I can't wait to see what the journey holds.

With my sisters we don't have to rush to get there,
unlike when Arvid and I drive.  Always seems like we
rush to everywhere.  Nirvana, Nina and I will do a leisure
drive, and stop when we want and if we want.

The reason for the trip of course is to see Rima
and family.  Always happy times with them.  I can't
wait to see Lilly Vade, the boys and of course the doggies.
Since I was last there (October 2018) they had a new
family member.  Kingston, the Golden Lab.

Lilly is growing up way too fast.  On the 12th
of the month she will be 12.  I keep saying the same thing
all the time, "where does the time go by"  Riley will
also be having a birthday in October.  His is on the 7th.
Little Riley or "the Professor" as Arvid calls
him will be 17.  Time is going fast.

Las Vegas to California.  En route to, we pass  San
Bernardino.  Long time ago when I lived in California,
it was there. Memories come to me, happy ones and some
not so very happy ones, but life has made us all who we are
because of all the things we have lived and experienced.

California will forever hold special memories for me.
It was where I was once the happiest woman in the
world.  It was also where I first experienced loss and grief.
That being said, it was in California I met the woman
who was to become my best friend in life.  Anna.

One of my stops is to Anna's home, where she
lives with her two fur babies Edwina and Bowe Bowe.
Last year she also had her Taino.  Anna and I met
during one of the worst times in our lives.

We both lost a loved one and we were both
trying to make sense of the world.  Today she is
my sounding block, and I hope in many ways I am
hers as well.  So yes, for me California will
always hold a special place in my heart.

The 3 doggies below are Dexy, the Pomeranian,
Marley (black lab), and Kingston the Golden Lab.
Rima's 3 other babies.  Dexy is my boy.

Our journey has begun. Short and sweet, but there
is so much we hope to accomplish.  I will be with two
of my sisters, my niece and nephews, George,
and my best friend.  I am grateful.

Next stop California.  Wishing everyone happy days
and may you always live in interesting times.

Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.
It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
I remain California bound.  Travel  always
with less plans and more freedom...
