Man's Best Friend....Schoep and John

Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you...

Last night as we were watching the news, we saw the most heart warming photograph sent in by a viewer.  This photo as you may now guess has gone viral.  Both Arvid and I were overcome with emotion as we sat there looking at this man and his faithful companion.

The talented and heartfelt photographer Hannah Stonehouse Hudson of
Stonehouse Photography♥ took the world by storm in a puppy heartbeat with this picture.

Tender: John Unger gently cradles Schoep in the warm waters of Lake Superior
John Unger and his 19-year-old rescue dog, Schoep, take one of their therapeutic evening swims in Lake Superior. After professional photographer Hannah Stonehouse Hudson took the photo of her friend, she posted it on Facebook and it went viral.

It was a picture that touched countless hearts across the world. An owner tenderly cradling his arthritic dog in the warm waters of a lake to lull him to sleep went viral and prompted a staggering outpouring of love.
The tale behind the snap – namely John Unger’s determination to ensure the comfort of Schoep, whose suffering meant he had trouble sleeping, melted hearts.

This is a most beautiful and touching story about a man and his best friend.  If you don't mind shedding tears then you may want to take the time to read about them.

For this man, a picture is worth a thousand words -- so many of them kind.  I am always pleasantly amazed by the total kindness of strangers.  Makes me feel like I should be doing more.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted....
Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.
