Another Special Moment...

Spend your time like it was a dream. Fill it, enjoy it and capture special moments. Your life has limited time, but you can make your life limitless...

Yesterday was a long day, but in the end it was a good day also.  Brutus' surgery went well and my mom and dad were over at our place for dinner.

Something about Arvid and my dad is very special.  Two totally different cultures yet somehow they seem to find common ground all the time.

My dad tells Arvid about his childhood and his life in Guyana.  Arvid tells my dad the same about his life and times in Norway.  Always amazing how there is so many similarities when telling the stories.
Last night they talked about friends, teachers and about their fathers, and not to forget the new grand-daughter we will soon have.
My dads father died when my dad was only 11 years old.  He enjoys taking about him and Arvid is a very good listener.  Arvid also tells a few stories about his dad and brother, and next thing you know everyone is laughing again.

This went on for a few hours.  My parents were about to leave several times, but Arvid kept saying no way, "it's too early, the night is young and you can't leave as yet."  So they stayed on and we talked, laughed, drank and ate some more.

As usual it was relaxing, enjoyable and a lot of fun.  After they left even Arvid forgot he was hurting and was ready for a good night's sleep.

Last night was special and we look forward to more of it...

Life is made up of special moments which make it worth living. There are many cherished moments that are missed due to the stress and fast pace of daily living. We must slow down and remember how precious it is to be alive and to love...
