And So A New Year Begins....

Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude
is going to determine how you live your life...

One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this:
To rise above the little things.

2014 will be a year to remember for us.  I hope it was also a memorable one for all of you.
Like everything the year had it's up and downs.  It was in 2014 I was diagnosed with Thyroid
cancer, but now that I look back I realize how lucky I have been compared to so many others.  My
cancer was treatable and even though I am on medication for life, have gained weight,
an sometimes irritable and a few other things, many have not been so lucky.
I at least wake up every morning and can enjoy the new day.

Brutus has also enjoyed a little relief from medication in the last 2 weeks of the year.
Both Arvid and I look at it as an a positive sign that hopefully he is finally on
his way to recovery.  That will be our best start of the New Year's.

I was fortunate to visit my parents in North Carolina for the Holidays and have most of the
family present.  Does not happen too often that we can all gather together.  Five girls
with their families.  Sometimes it gets difficult to coordinate and all gather together.
It will be cherished forever in my memories the days spent in NC.

My nieces and nephews are mostly now young women and men and it was a pleasure
to be around them and to hear their points of views about life, college, marriage,
kids and so much more.   I feel like I was given the best in life for having
the family I have.  Won't trade for the world.  Good and bad they
are mine.  They are family and I love them to death.

Everyone asks for peace in the World for their New Years resolution.  I ask for more
kindness towards each other.  More patience with each other and for us to not ever forget
that no matter what we have in life, remember there is always someone out there
who has nothing and who would love to be in your shoes.

Remember everyone, today is the first blank page of a 365 page book.  Write a good
one and have a happy New Year.  For last year's words belong to last year's
language and next year's words await another voice.

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right...
